This belief inspires us to relentlessly push the boundaries of what is possible today—to enable researchers and clinicians to turn big dreams into impactful genomic discoveries that improve lives and change the course of diseases globally.We are seeking a Staff Software Solutions Engineer who can act as a product champion and point of contact for our cloud data platforms.  This role will work with development, product management, support, and commercial teams to help address customer issues, gather feedback, and develop technical solutions to address customer challenges.  A successful candidate will be able to leverage their deep technical skills and understanding to triage and resolve customer issues in both pre- and post-sales environments, as well as act as a resource for internal commercial and support teams in answering highly technical product questions.  In addition, this role will act as a liaison to important collaborators and KOLs to ensure the success of their projects from a technical implementation and scientific perspective.  Lastly, this role will leverage their understanding of customer pain points and challenges to act as an input to technical teams in the design and development of new products and features.Come join our team and help Illumina achieve its strategic goal of becoming the worlds the leading provider of multi-omic data generation, aggregation, interpretation, and insights. Responsibilities:Act as a key subject matter expert and liaison between technical and support teams for Illumina’s data solution productsReview, triage, and drive resolution of technical and scientific field issues escalated to development teams.Manage regular cadence of reviews for field escalations and on-market issue.In collaboration with cross functional teams, support the development and delivery of technical trainings for service, support, and commercial teams.Act as a key subject matter expert and liaison between technical and commercial teams for Illumina’s data solution productsSupport pre-sales activities as a technical product expert for customer engagements with complex implementation, integration, or application requirements.Prepare and deliver technical presentations and demos of ILMN E2E and Data Solutions products to potential customers and collaborators.Support commercial teams in the identification of new and emerging opportunities for Data Solutions products.Serve as development representative and point-of-contact for post-engagement support and customer success for Data Solutions customers.Support product onboarding and post-sales support for key accounts, collaborators, and partners as a technical representative.Address technical inquiries, provide trainings on Data Solutions product updates to ensure successful implementation.Track and manage customer utilization of Data Solutions products to ensure successful adoption.Serve as the development representative for large tenders and commercial deals.Assist in creating technical proposals and responding to requests for proposals (RFPs) by mapping customer requirements to the product's capabilities.Connect commercial teams to appropriate stakeholders to achieve tender requests and ensure submission are on time.Provide input into the technical design of products and features for E2E Data Solutions and product development.Leverage learning from technical support, customer onboarding, and collaboration engagements to develop a deep understanding of customer needs and pain points, and provide technical recommendations to optimize E2E offerings that include Data Solutions.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, designers, and QA testers, to translate product requirements into technical specifications.Education / Experience:BS in Bioinformatics, computer science, statistics, or related mathematics or scientific field.10+ years of experience in a relevant industry.5+ years in a customer facing role in sales, product management, support, or similar roles.Qualifications:Demonstrated experience in developing technical proposals, defining technical requirements, and working closely with development teams to design new features and functions.Recognized as a subject matter expert in one or more scientific or technical product or domain.Deep knowledge of genomic concepts, multi-omic data, tertiary analysis tools, and/or biomarker discovery.Experience with SaaS platform architecture, enterprise data management, and/or data science.Demonstrated ability to work successfully with external customers and collaborators.Experience with communicating and presenting complex concepts to diverse audiences, including executive leadership.Able convey a clear vision across an enterprise in order to meet or exceed objectives.Capable of successfully navigating a complex organizational matrix;The estimated base salary range for the Staff Solutions Engineer role based in the United States of America is: $136,100 - $204,100. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable salary range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
