This includes the existing BaseSpace Sequence Hub product and its integration with Illumina Connected Analytics. You will immediately have impact by working to ensure an exceptional experience for tens of thousands of monthly active users of the product. This product also plays a key role in enabling automated end-to-end workflow for customers to seamlessly generate and analyze their sequencing data.  The successful candidate will develop a deep understanding of the existing product capabilities, including instrument integration, run planning and management, run QC and automated data analysis. The position will capture the voice of our customers, identify and prioritize key features and requirements. This position will also work collaboratively across multiple departments, including R&D, Product Marketing, non-software Product Management, Customer Support, Business Development, and Finance to ensure that this product enables the best possible user experience for customers purchasing Illumina instruments and library kits.   Responsibilities: Clearly articulate and represent the product strategy, scope and it’s role in the overall software portfolio Build and manage to revenue forecast for the product Define and maintain the target markets, customers and their personas for the product Lead use case development, requirements gathering, requirements analysis and review meetings for customer needs Work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams to accurately and fully represent the user needs to Technical PMs, UX, Development, and Testing  Gather and manage product requirements from internal stakeholders such as Instrument and kit product managers, strategic partnerships and more. Work with Technical Product Management and Development to prioritize features in the backlog Coordinate across multi-disciplinary teams to transform user needs into a complete description of software system requirements Liaise with market development, field sales, regional marketing, and corporate marketing functional managers to support the commercialization of major new releases Support the sales team and sales process as needed to implement the marketing strategy and promote products Must be willing to work in a fast paced, “multithreaded” environment. Must be able to manage a broad-based product offering, serving the needs of varying (and even overlapping) markets. Must be able to communicate requirements and negotiate priorities with both Product Management and Engineering functions. Must have excellent written, communication, and presentation skills, with excellent time and program management skills. Up to 20% travel may be required.  Qualifications: Must have 3+ years of experience working as a software product manager Must have demonstrated experience managing SaaS products Must have demonstrated experience with agile software development lifecycle and scrum methodologies Strong initiative, problem-solving ability and sense of ownership when driving projects to completion. Ability to work as a member of a multi-functional team, detail oriented with strong communication and organizational skills. Must have minimum of 4 years of experience in the genome sequencing space Must have a Bachelors or Masters in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Genomics, Engineering or related degree.  Preferred Background: Previous sales, marketing or business development experience preferred. Experience with running or supporting sequencing instruments Ability to build business cases with quantitative market analytics, revenue, NPV and profitability projections. Ability to develop support materials (internal and customer-facing)  Proven ability to influence at all levels across a matrixed organization. The estimated base salary range for the Senior Software Product Manager role based in the United States of America is: $103,500 - $155,300. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable salary range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
