Surrounded by extraordinary people, inspiring leaders, and world changing projects, you will do more and become more than you ever thought possible.Responsibilities:Construction and improvement of high-performance image analysis pipelines for new sequencing platformsDesign, develop, debug, and integrate optimized C/C++ software on Linux for multi-threaded applications.Closely interact with the bioinformatics team, instrument design team, test and quality teamsCollaborate in an agile environment to maintain high quality software against established processesProvide technical assistance on escalated development/production issuesMaintain awareness of industry trends and evaluate applicability of new software and hardware technologies to platform development effortsProvide technical leadership where neededRequirements:Extensive knowledge and experience with C/C++, multi-threading, and memory management techniquesProficient with tools for software debugging and troubleshooting (GDB, etc.)Proficient with tools for software performance analysis and optimizationProficient with source control management repositories (such as GIT, SVN, etc.)Extensive experience writing high quality unit tests against mock objectsGood understanding of object-oriented analysis and designStrong problem-solving skillsDesired:Extensive knowledge and experience in developing software for real-time systemsExperience with image processing algorithms and techniquesBe curious, detail oriented, and analytical, with a proven ability to learn quicklyBe customer-focused, team-oriented, and motivated, taking ownership of assigned tasksHave proven ability to self-manage, as well as manage interdisciplinary relationshipsHave proven verbal and written communication skillsExperience:BS/MS in Computer Science, EE, Bioinformatics, or related field, with 8+ years of experience, or PhD with 3+ years of experienceThe estimated base salary range for the Staff Software Engineer role based in the United States of America is: $136,100 - $204,100. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable salary range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
