The position requires a close partnership with investor relations, senior management and external auditors. This position requires a deep SEC reporting and technical accounting awareness, strong cross-functional collaborative skills and an ability to drive issues to resolution.Responsibilities:Prepares the Company’s SEC financial reporting on Forms 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K, including drafting of management’s discussion and analysis, financial statement footnotes and related XBRL reporting.Supports investor relations in assisting with the preparation of Company earnings and related matters and ensures consistent disclosure between releases, scripts and SEC filings.Maintains compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements in the SEC reporting area and evaluates controls and drives improvements and efficiencies while improving effectiveness of controls.Monitors and researches FASB, SEC, PCAOB and other regulatory agency activities and rulemaking and evaluates timing and potential impact of new rules and standards applicable to the Company.Performs research related to technical accounting areas and/or proposed complex transactions (i.e., equity investments, cash flow presentation, new accounting standards, etc.). Documents accounting position and conclusions in memos methodically and clearly articulates conclusions to stakeholders.Collaborates with other general accounting functions to ensure appropriate implementation of and compliance with U.S. GAAP and Company accounting positions, policies and conventions.Drives process improvement opportunities across the financial reporting and technical accounting areas, seeks ways to automate reporting and accounting functions, reduces the time required to prepare materials and file SEC documents and eliminates inefficient and duplicative efforts.Mentors direct reports and establishes opportunities for growth and development.Listed responsibilities are an essential, but not exhaustive list, of the usual duties associated with the position. Changes to individual responsibilities may occur due to business needs.Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance. Active CPA license. Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience, including significant SEC experience.Big 4 public accounting firm experience preferred.Life science and manufacturing industries accounting experience a plus.Strong ability to interpret, apply and document U.S. GAAP to complex events and transactions; previous or current experience researching technical accounting topics required.Strategic thinking and experience interacting with various levels within an organization.Facilitate and coordinate multiple deadlines and respond quickly to management requests.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing; previous or current SEC disclosure-writing experience required.Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented self-starter; ability to work independently and collaborate to meet deadlines; effectively work with team to expedite completion of critical projects.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Power Point, and Workiva. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable salary range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
