This individual will develop an analysis of EHS business processes and systems to help identify and drive continuous improvement activities that increase maturity in EHS risk management and value creation while meeting business, technology, and regulatory requirements.  The Sr EHS Specialist, Global Business Process and Systems Analyst will assist in project planning and coordination with vendors and regional EHS Teams, closely working with other business functions to ensure cohesive execution of strategy. This position will not have direct supervisory responsibilities. However, the position will require leadership experience and the capability to implement change in a global matrix management support model. Flexibility and customer-centric attitudes are fundamental in this role.Responsibilities:Develop, maintain, and improve business process analysis for EHS global programs and related information management systems.Help identify and manage gaps, inefficiencies, and bottlenecks in the EHS business process that can steer improvement of EHS performance.Lead activities and projects related to the design, development, and deployment of new EHS processes, and information management systems and manage the process of enhancements to current EHS processes and systems.   EHS processes include but are not limited to Incident Management, Risk Assessment, EHS Inspections, Corrective/Preventive Actions, Safety Data Sheet (SDS), Product Stewardship, EHS Compliance, and EHS Performance.Work as the technical partner and liaison between the Global and Regional EHS teams, driving toward global standard processes.Work with stakeholders to define and document business processes.Define / Modify end-user service model – escalations, levels of service, and feedback from end users.Prepare and deploy communication plans related to EHS business processes and systems.Define, deploy, and enforce EHS Global Standards that govern the correct use of EHS systems.Interact with the Global and Regional EHS teams– coordinating daily activities and projects.Deliver reliable EHS systems for End Users to work in.Interact with business stakeholders, their engagements/projects, understanding needs and/or requirements.Evaluation of vendor partners/solutions in different markets across the globe and coordination of implementation efforts. Stewardship of project budget.Monitor vendor performance against agreed service levels.Manage the prioritization process for EHS system enhancements.Represents EHS needs to be incorporated into the overall Enterprise Architecture.Handles and manages EHS systems portfolio in partnership with Global Information Systems (IT) .Facilitate process improvement workshops.Documenting business processes and developing process mapping to create a visual layout of EHS processes.Develop criteria that can help monitor, measure, and provide feedback on EHS process performance and identify areas of improvement. Troubleshoot and solve problems that arise. Work with Global Information Systems (IT) to assist in technology-related problem-solving and troubleshooting and escalate system issues as necessary.All listed tasks and responsibilities are deemed essential functions to this position; however, business conditions may require reasonable accommodations for additional tasks and responsibilities.Education and Experience:Bachelor’s Degree, in Industrial Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Sciences, Environmental or Safety Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Public Health, Business, IT Management, or related discipline with 5+ years of industry experience with EHS process and operations, process development, deployment, improvement, and project management.Master’s Degree with 3+ years industry experienceRequirements   Strong experience in biotechnology, life sciences, or pharmaceutical-related industry.Professional certifications preferred: Project Management Certification (PMP), Lean/Six Sigma Certification, Business Process Management Certification, or Business Analyst Certification.Broad knowledge of all business areas particularly EHS operations, Project Management, and EHS information systemsKnowledge and application of environmental, health, and safety regulations and familiarity with EHS regulatory agencies’ protocols.Working knowledge of EHS management systems such as ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 or other continuous improvement methodologies.Experience with EHS Incident Management Software, SAP EHS Module, and SDS Authoring and Management Software.Strong project management skills.Strong process mapping skills.Demonstrated ability to identify and address complex issues that arise during analysis and improvement of process.Strong technical abilities in information management system evaluation, design, configuration, implementation, and support.Proficiency in understanding complex business processes and requirement and being able to translate them into technical solutions.Strong teamwork skills across a team operating globally. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable salary range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
