Members of the team collaborate closely with lab scientists and engineers to develop new assay and computational workflows. The team is responsible for defining and creating software and workflows that enable efficient analysis of next-generation sequencing and imaging data, developing novel methods and best-in-class algorithms to be deployed both locally and on Illumina’s cloud computing environment. The position requires a strong background in algorithm design and implementation.ResponsibilitiesClosely interact with assay scientists and engineers to solve challenging next-generation sequencing analysis, computer vision, and image processing problemsEvaluate and implement both established and new algorithms in C/C++Design, develop, debug and integrate optimized software on Linux for multi-threaded applications.Work closely with bioinformatics scientists to translate prototype algorithms to production softwareMaintain awareness of industry trends and evaluate applicability of new software technologies or methods to platform development effortsMaintain rigorous quality and performance standardsPosition is open to different levels of seniority.
