Then, this position is yours!We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer with expertise in high-performance computing system architecture and its troubleshooting and maintenance. The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience and will be fully versed in server architecture and their network integration, with a deep understanding of high-performance CPUs as well as basic function/concept of the latest FPGAs from AMD and Intel. They should also have a good understanding of GPUs, interface protocols and be familiar with SSDs and memory used in server applications. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Linux, including Oracle or similar and good experience on Linux kernel and device drivers.The position will be responsible for sustaining activities including problem solving, manufacturing support, driving continuous improvements, cost reduction, and supporting outsourcing efforts. The responsibility also includes providing technical support throughout the product development process (PDP) and being a part of new product introduction (NPI) functions, including redesign of current products, development of engineering specifications and requirements, test and characterization, and generation of engineering documentation.Responsibilities:Troubleshoot and resolve issues with hardware and software components, including CPUs, Chipsets, FPGAs, GPUs, SSDs, and memoryCollaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement server architectures that meet the needs of the business as a PD (Product Development) support group.Analyze server performance metrics and identify areas for improvement, then design and implement solutions to address them.Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in high-performance computing and server design, and provide recommendations for future improvements.Work with vendors and suppliers to identify / source hardware components, develop / apply qualification process, create the specification documents for the change management process and EOL (End of Life) mitigation process.Work with strategic sourcing to identify optimally selected components to redesign HPC products or come up with solutions for sustaining longevity and support negotiating pricing and contracts as needed.Conduct research that analyzes the design, operation and performance of HPC systems to improve product reliability and longevity.Participate in NPI transfer efforts to manufacturing and in design reviews with engineering review board teams.Collaborate with Contract Manufacturers to assure successful product release and transfer in subsystem outsourcing efforts.Review verification & validation protocols from HPC CMs and approve for their execution. Review V&V test reports from HPC CMs, and approve, document and release the protocols & reports to PLM.Develop critical V&V steps and provide guidance to vendors and support them to develop IQ/OQ/PQ processes.Implement ECO changes to product and manufacturing processesSupport development of new high-performance computing hardware systems as a part of NPI (New Product Introduction) process as needed, and sustain on-market HPC (high-performance computing) systems, with a focus on optimizing performance and reliability.Support NC (Non-conforming) material processing for root cause analysis and technical guidance as an SME (Subject Matter Expert).Requirements:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.At least 5 years of experience in high-performance computing system architecture design, troubleshooting, and maintenance.Strong understanding of server architecture design and optimization and networking technology, with basic understanding on high-performance CPUs/FPGAs from AMD, Intel, or ARM cores.Good understanding of NVIDIA or AMD GPUs, SSDs, BMC, and memory.Solid background on high-speed communications and IOs such as SATA, PCIe, USB3.2, Thunderbolt, Ethernet, Aurora link, etc. and their related hardware systems.Experience on Server BIOS or PC BIOS is a plus.Experience on diverse SBC such as Raspberry pi, Beaglebone, and similar is a plus.Experience in C/C++ or Python programming including CUDA is a plus.Strong knowledge of Linux, its kernel such as RedHat and CentOS or similar.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and develop effective solutions.Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.Familiar with latest software tools such as MS Office 365, Lucid Chart, Asana, JIRA & Confluence, Ariba, etc. or similar apps.Demonstrated use and understanding of change management process through PLM, PDM, ERP and MRP (For example, Agile or SAP, TeamCenter)Experience in biotech, biomedical, nanotechnology or semiconductor industries preferred but not limited.Experience with FDA regulated medical device product development preferred but not required.Education:BSEE/MSEE in Electrical Engineering: Senior EE: 5+ years with BS or 3+ years with MS or fresh PhDThe estimated base salary range for the Senior HPC Systems Engineer - High Performance Computing role based in the United States of America is: $119,500 - $179,300. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable salary range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
