You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust and scalable backend systems that power our real-time personalization marketing engine. Adobe Journey Optimizer includes an omnichannel orchestration canvas which allows marketers to harmonize marketing outreach with one-to-one customer engagement. Position is located in the San Jose office at least 50% of the time.Key Responsibilities: Develop high-performance, scalable, and reliable backend systems based on Java. Design and implement distributed systems, including data storage, caching, and communication protocols. Collaborate with global cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, data scientists, and product managers, to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business objectives. Optimize performance and scalability of backend systems to ensure high availability and fast response times. Identify and troubleshoot issues in distributed systems, including debugging and resolving production incidents. Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in backend development and distributed systems and apply this knowledge to drive continuous improvement and continuous delivery in our systems and processes. Drive innovation to solve current challenges Key Technology Expertise: Java/MongoDB/Aerospike/Kafka/Rest APIs Requirements: BS in Computer Science or a related field of study. Master’s level degree preferred, or equivalent business experience. 3+ years of experience as a backend developer, with a focus on distributed systems. 2+ years of experience doing web application development with React.js, Node.js, etc. Strong proficiency in Java Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Proven experience in working with NoSQL databases Experience with building REST APIs. Knowledgeable of secure, scalable, and highly available service development practices. Proven ability to develop robust, efficient, high-quality code. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems using appropriate tools and techniques. Experience with modern development practices in testing, version control, Agile. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several  U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $101,500 -- $194,300 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
