With opportunities in all functions, we offer many exciting reasons to join our team.The Role We are seeking a highly motivated Software Engineering Manager who will be responsible for an engineering team in Belfast developing next generation services for the Proofpoint Flagship Security product.  The ideal candidate will be a highly technical and effective people manager. They will make a highly visible contribution to the product used by many recognised large enterprise companies across the world.  The Belfast team will work closely with development teams and product management based in our Silicon Valley headquarters to deliver end to end solutions.Your day-to-day Handle hiring, mentoring, work planning, career growth, and performance management.Motivate and inspire the team to achieve excellence in design, implementation, quality and deliver superior product features.Lead day-to-day activities of engineering team using Agile/Scrum methodology.Lead and participate in the requirement gathering, architecture, design and development activities. Oversee the end-to-end delivery of high value, complex software projects, including requirements analysis, development, testing and production support.Assign tasks based on team objectives and priorities, ensuring team members have clearly defined short- and long-term goals.Coordinate with US based engineering teams to deliver end to end solutions for complex software projects.Provide both high level and low-level technical guidance to the team members as appropriate.Be an active member of the engineering leadership team contributing to strategy, evaluating and reporting performance and trends, recommending improvements, building team ethos, and collaborating positively to develop and retain talent across the entire team.Contribute hands-on to software development by designing and implementing product features.What you bring to the teamBe both a highly technical and an effective people manager.Significant experience working in a team lead or development lead role.Experience working on mission critical, large enterprise software.Experience coordinating with multiple teams to manage dependencies and timelines.
