Product Mechanical Engineering (Personal Computer)Description - What a Product Mechanical Engineering (Personal Computer) does at HP:The role involves the supervision and management of all Operational Engineering activities from SMT to Final Assembly pertaining to ODM factories.Responsible for new factory or factory transition onboarding and setup.Review Manufacturing Processes Development & Implementation in support of Operational Excellence.Manages and expands relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on engineering design and development.Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality.Provides domain-specific expertise and overall engineering leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the engineering design organisation.Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members.Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Candidates with a Master’s degree level is preferred.Candidates are required to have a minimum of 10 years of experience in SMT process, Mechanical Assembly process, Test, and Industrial Engineering. Candidates shall have good knowledge of PC Product Engineering.Candidates possess a proficient level of expertise in Design for Excellence (DFx) techniques.Familiar with PC or 3C production process and able to do first-level issue triage on factory quality issues.
