Now one company, we are stronger together, innovating for customers & partners to support them on their once-in-a-generation quest to redefine the way work gets done.We are looking for highly skilled Firmware Engineers that create and design our next generation of video conferencing solutions.Responsibilities for the Staff Firmware EngineerCreate innovative new features for our Next Generation video endpoints and conferencing solutions. Design and build unique capabilities to expand our Android platform. Work in a collaborative and agile team to build innovative solutions. Manage and expand relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on software systems design and development Review and evaluate designs and project activities for compliance with systems design and development guidelines and standards; and provide tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk Provide domain-specific expertise and overall software systems leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities Integrate new technologies into projects and activities in the software systems design organization Provide guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members ​Knowledge & Skills for the Staff Firmware Engineer10+ years of experience in software development using C++ programming language Experience in low-level embedded OS and driver developmentExperience in using source control tools (Subversion and Git) Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to perform root cause analysis for any problem at hand Experience in the overall architecture of software systems for products and solutions Excellent communication, passion for learning and attention to detail are key to the role Experience with USB, WiFiKnowledge of Android HAL is beneficial  Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levelsScope & ImpactImpact of decisions can often alter product timelines by multiple quarters.Impacts efficiencies and delivery times across all software teams takes responsibility for the quality of deliveries.Proactively and effectively interacts and partners across different departments within and outside the software engineering function.Complexity:Moderate to highTo be considered all applicants MUST be based in Ireland.#LI-POSTJob -SoftwareSchedule -Full timeShift -No shift premium - Lunch 0.5 (Ireland)Travel -NoRelocation -EEO Tagline - HP Inc. is EEO F/M/Protected Veteran/ Individual with Disabilities.
