The Role The VP, Poly Product & Portfolio Management reports to the SVP/Division President of HP’s Hybrid Systems organization and is responsible for the creation of a competitive roadmap that meets the needs (today and in the future) of customers collaborating in the office (Audio and Video Room solutions) and at their “Anywhere” desk (with a focus on headsets and audio devices). This is a very exciting time in the industry as customers develop their hybrid work strategies for the future and where AI is disrupting every industry. This dynamic leader will partner with the sales, alliances partners (such as Microsoft, Zoom and Google), R&D teams and customers to deliver a world class and “experience based” roadmap - on time and with the right competitive advantages. The role will ensure that the lifecycle of the products is well managed – working across sales and marketing teams to ensure that each product meets its business goals. Results will be delivered through strong leadership, collaboration and great teamwork across HP and our industry UC partners. HP purchased Poly in 2022 to round out its portfolio for Hybrid work. Poly and HP’s existing PC Peripherals business were merged to create the new organization called ‘Hybrid Systems”. The purpose of the portfolio is to enable customers to deploy productivity solutions from home, on the go and in the office (whether at a desk or in a collaboration space). The portfolio consists of Room Video solutions, personal webcams, headsets, IP Phones, keyboard/mice, docking solutions and much more). It also ensures that customers can manage their equipment with world class AI based software and services – whether an end user of an IT department. This role focuses on the Room Solutions, Webcams, headsets, IP Phones and associated Software. Additional details on the role are: Establishing the product portfolio strategy via a team by working with customer insight data, meeting customers, analysts, channel partners, sales feedback Create the plan of record roadmap for hardware & software (ensuring HP Poly utilizes the latest tech around AI, designed for services and sustainability) ensuring that our customers (end users and IT) have the best experiences when using our products and services (e.g. face framing for video conferencing, active noise cancellation for headsets etc). This also entails having their teamwork across HP PC division to create “better together” experiences with PCs, displays and other portfolio products. Responsible for and oversees all aspects of product life cycle management through a team of dedicated product managers: roadmap creation as discussed above and ensure that business results for the portfolio are communicated and agreed, ensure seamless and high impact New Product introductions, manages the product through their life – ensuring that the products hit their business goals, EOL the products with the least disruption to customers and the P&L. Work with partner teams and alliance to facilitate rapid development and implementation of new products and enhancements, Delivering profitable growth. Committed to understanding and addressing market needs, leading a team of product management professionals, as well as collaborating with customers, alliance partners and internal stakeholders to ensure coordinated execution in all matters of product management. This person is an excellent leader and communicator, as well as a developer of product management talent within and across product lines. Key responsibilities Defining the overall portfolio vision and strategy for differentiated hybrid working room and personal productivity experiences leveraging the broader HP portfolio and alliance partnerships. Create integrated product roadmap in strong collaboration with Engineering, Product Management & Product Planning, ensuring alignment on MRD. Identifies consequences of strategic portfolio decisions on a global level and recommends appropriate solutions and areas for improvement. Define, plan, and execute the delivery of the next generation hybrid work portfolio and solutions for our customers and partners, including headsets, video, software and services and rooms. Responsible for life cycle management of the product lines from development, launch, refresh to obsolescence. Define Lifecycle management governance and lead lifecycle management activities between key stakeholder organizations, e.g., NPI, Category Sales, R&D, Provides thought-leadership on new Hybrid Poly solution offerings as well as refreshes. Accountable for leading Hybrid Systems Poly Product Management organization by setting overall initiatives, allocating financial and human capital for programs and projects, and ensuring timely and effective delivery of marketing programs. Responsible for understanding market trends, technology, analyzing competitors’ offerings, and soliciting input from clients, partners, sales teams for product planning and design. Consults with business leaders at the senior executive level to drive and influence strategic decision-making within a broad scope (e.g., mitigating risk, approving significant programs/deals). Champion a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture & work environment. Represents the brand and business in major events – both industry and internal Maintains relationships on the product roadmap with our alliance and key technology partners Education and Experience Required First level university degree with a focus in Marketing, Business, or Engineering; advanced degree strongly preferred. Typically, 12+ years of experience in marketing or exhibiting an exceptionally strong background in hybrid solutions industry trend and customers. Typically, 4+ years of people management experience. Knowledge and Skills Thought leadership: demonstrate advanced knowledge in the domain of expertise. Superior ability to provide consultation to senior managers within area of expertise. Understanding of the hybrid solutions and peripherals market, specific knowledge of headsets, video, audio, and collaboration rooms. Deep understanding of industry trends to create a value proposition for the business unit and a product vision. Strong communication skills to convey complex ideas and alternatives. Strong analytical skills, structured thinking, and problem-solving skills to direct team toward the right decisions Superior understanding of product design and current product management.
