Lead Platform Engineer - Video 49Description -This is a terrific opportunity for you to help us create and lead a new Platform Engineering team that will support our growing Video Device business.  As a Lead Platform Engineer, you are interested in providing key contributions and direction for our platform engineering and software engineering teams.  You will be hands-on defining and creating our test, building infrastructure, and working closely with the software engineering team to understand technical challenges and establish best practices.ResponsibilitiesHelp us define, document, and deliver a large Platform Engineering project that will enable enhanced build infrastructure and a rich automated test bed for embedded video devices.Provide strong technical guidance and training to the platform engineering and software engineering teams.Design, implement, and manage automated build pipelines, deployments, and configurations using CI / CD pipelines in GitHub & Jenkins.Realtime analytics for build / test infrastructure that clearly communicates the platforms performance and any problem areas.Utilize test automation frameworks and tools such as Robot Framework, Selenium, Cucumber, etc to build a robust automated tests environment.Work closely with the software engineering team to understand how the build and test process can be improved and establish best practices.Create and maintain infrastructure to support local developer builds, on-premises build / test and analytics, monitoring, logging, and alertingProvide technical leadership on the Platform Engineering Team to develop a scalable test and build infrastructure.QualificationsKnowledge, experience, and expertise in different areas of Platform Engineering to prepare, manage, and deliver on a strategy and execution plan.Proficiency with using and debugging networks, DNS, HTTP, TLS, load-balancing, build systems, and containers.In-depth understanding of the software development life cycle, branching strategies, source control (Git, GitHub, SVN, etc.).People leadership skills including interpersonal, teamwork, mentoring, technical development, motivational, and communicationKnowledge of Agile/Scrum Software Development methodologyNetworking knowledge in firewalls, DNS, 802.1x and Web Proxy a plus.Strong hands-on end-to-end CI / CD pipeline implementation experience with Jenkins, GitHub and / or AWS.Hands on experience in building platforms utilizing Ansible, Terraform, Proxmox and other tools.Demonstrated experience with Linux to setup infrastructure, and experience with Android based devices a plus.4+ years of hands-on experience in containerization and orchestration.Strong experience in a few of the following scripting environments: Bash, Shell, Python, PowerShell.Hands-on experience with Agile / Scrum Software Development process and Jira.Expertise in analytics and reporting for build / test infrastructure and device analytics using Grafana, Datadog, or similar tools.Education & Experience RequiredBachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent.5+ years of relevant experience in Platform Engineering / DevOps, or equivalent with increasing responsibilities and leadership experience.Job -SoftwareSchedule -Full timeShift -No shift premium (United States of America)Travel -Not SpecifiedRelocation -EEO Tagline - HP Inc. is EEO F/M/Protected Veteran/ Individual with Disabilities.
