Global Infrastructure and Security Engineer - Intermediate LevelDescription -Apply applicable foundational subject matter knowledge to solve business issues and to meet business objectives, specifically for the Global Infrastructure and Security (GIS) team within Personal Systems Operations.  Contributes to the development of new ideas and methods, and works on problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth and thorough analysis of multiple factors.  Effectively engages with project teams and provides meaningful contributions to functional program/project teams, and may participate in cross-functional initiatives.  May act as a key contributor with process improvements and policy establishment, and may represent the organization to external customers/clients as warranted.  Exercises independent judgment within defined policies and practices to determine the best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.  Will be expected to develop effective autonomy and self-reliance.Responsibilities: Take an active role in designing, developing, developer testing, configuring, implementing, and maintaining solutions, tools, and utilities that HP and its external manufacturing partners use to build HP Personal Systems products and to manage Microsoft client Operating Systems licenses to those products; be able to effectively work with other product and engineering teams to deliver functional and stable solutions in a timely and productive mannerProactively research and drive implementation of GIS and factory operations process and technique proficiencies and enhancementsEngage with program management, technical management, system architects, and other internal entities to understand the business and operational requirements to support the product roadmaps and business objectives, and to interpret and translate those requirements into achievable designsWork closely with other GIS and Cyber Security engineers to ensure all deliverables meet established Cyber Security requirements and guidelinesAuthor and maintain appropriate specifications, user guides, installation instructions, troubleshooting procedures and training materials as neededPartner with internal validation, build/release, and other development team members to adhere to and enhance standardized ISO27001 compliancy processesFollow all established team processes and guidelines: coding standards, release notes, server and network configuration standards, administrative responsibilitiesEducation and Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Sciences, Information Technology or related technical field1-3 years in Software development and/or network engineering for OS system (particularly Windows) level programming, webservices, microservices, Cloud-based solutions1-3 years of Software development, installation, and maintenance experience with relational databases (MS SQL Server preferred), and server/network hardwareWorking knowledge and use of Java / Javascript is a plusClear understanding of and exposure to an Agile methodology climate, and/or CI/CD pipeline modelExperience with MS .net framework, Use Case approaches is a plus; experience with messaging systems is a plusGood understanding of networking protocols and load balancing considerationsKnowledge and Skills: Excellent people and team interaction skillsProficient organizational and time management skills, strong self-reliance and self-disciplineExcellent oral and written communication skills, particularly in English; proficiency in creating and delivering presentations to peers and various management levelsOral and written fluency in English is a must; fluency in Spanish or Chinese is a plusAbility to work independently with minimal supervision/directionMust be able to work a standard 40 hour work week during normal business hours in the local time zone; occasional overtime and/or off-shift hours may be requestedJob -SoftwareSchedule -Full timeShift -No shift premium (Mexico)Travel -Not SpecifiedRelocation -NoEEO Tagline - HP Inc. is EEO F/M/Protected Veteran/ Individual with Disabilities.
