We are looking for a creative ATE IO characterization engineer. NVIDIA has continuously reinvented itself for three decades. Our invention of the GPU in 1999 fueled the growth of the PC gaming market, redefined modern computer graphics, and revolutionized parallel computing — with the GPU acting as the brains of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can perceive and understand the world. Today, we are increasingly known as “the AI computing company.” We're looking to grow our company and build our teams with the smartest people in the world. Join us at the forefront of technological advancement. We need a motivated individual who will help transfer GPU, Tegra and Automotive products from design engineering to mass production. You will be exposed to high speed IO and PLL designs instantiated into our latest GPU and Tegra products. If you are passionate about building the highest quality server products that will change the world, then we really want to hear from you. This newly created position is part of the chip operations team within NVIDIA. The operations team is responsible for New Product Introduction, testing and characterization of all our chip products. The position is based in our Santa Clara ATE lab and will support product, test, circuit design and bench evaluation teamsWhat you'll be doing:High speed IO and PLL characterization on all NVIDIA chip productsHelping board design teams improve bandwidth with VNA measurements on signal pathAnalyzing high speed measurement data across process, voltage and temperature distributions and generating reportsHelping with test correlation across different test insertionsHelping with failure analysis of field returnsTesting out next generation hardware (particularly sockets) for higher bandwidth requirementsWorking on measurement correlation between ATE and bench setupsThis position requires strong ATE test engineering experience and expertise with 9300 testers from Advantest. You will carry out high speed IO and PLL characterization on Advantest 9300 ATE testers in Santa Clara. This characterization conducted across process, voltage and temperature extremes is essential to ensure that products can be taken to high volume manufacturing with no adverse yield issues. The data are used by circuit design teams to fine tune their designs and to come up with best configuration settings for production. Another critical requirement for this position is to help collect VNA measurements on test hardware (loadboard and sockets) in order to ensure that upcoming high speed test suites have enough SI margin in high volume manufacturing. What we need to see:Experience with 93000 ATE testers from AdvantestFamiliarity with chip testing hardware (sockets and temperature control equipment)Strong debug skills when issues arise during ATE testingHardware debug and simple repair skillsBachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience1-3 years ATE experienceWays to stand out from the crowd:Prior experience with ATE based IO debug and characterizationUnderstanding of design for test methodology, especially for state of the art high speed IOFunctional understanding of state of the art high speed IO and analog PLL'sUnderstanding of transmission line theory and use of TDR/VNA equipmentExperience with ATE test hardwareSoftware scripting skills that can be applied to efficiently analyzing and reporting on large volumes of characterization dataWith highly competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package, NVIDIA is widely considered to be one of the technology world’s most desirable employers.
