NVIDIA has continuously reinvented itself over two decades. Our invention of the GPU in 1999 sparked the growth of the PC gaming market, redefined modern computer graphics, and revolutionized parallel computing. We are leading the way into high growth area of Autonomous Driving, High Performance Computing, Artificial Intelligence, and computer Gaming. More recently, GPU deep learning ignited modern AI - the next era of computing. NVIDIA is a “learning machine” that constantly evolves by adapting to new opportunities that are hard to solve, that only we can tackle, and that matter to the world. This is our life’s work to amplify human creativity and intelligence. Make the choice to join us today. The Supply Base Engineering Team at NVIDIA is responsible for thermal manufacturing readiness as related to the development of solutions for NVIDIA hardware products from thermal systems and components from chip to data center, and we support all products NVIDIA develops. As our business grows, we are looking to recruit a Senior Thermal Manufacturing Engineer in our Santa Clara office. Your contribution will be towards thermal manufacturing development, finding MFD (manufacturing for design) solutions to support NVIDIA innovations, driving manufacturing feedback to Engineering and implementing industry best practice to ensure smooth system integration in manufacturing. You will be working concurrently with NVIDIA hardware multi-functional teams and supplier partners, to develop detailed solutions to improve manufacturability maturity, via prototyping analysis and fixture designs, starting from conception phase, through new product introduction (NPI) and to mass production. What You’ll Be Doing:Develop and perform detailed thermal manufacturability analysis and liaison to NVIDIA hardware development team and provide manufacturing solutions using the best industry practiceLead suppliers to establish efficient fabrication process flow and to drive solutions to problems that are or might adversely affect MPEnsure clear thermal specifications such as performance, testing setup and reliability requirementIdentify, assess and apply risk mitigation techniques to optimize manufacturability, initiate and lead investigation of issues, root cause product failures, and drive corrective action, that are affect supplier manufacturabilityGather feedback through DFx, yield issues, repair center activities to improve workflow efficiency and find yield opportunitiesAnalyze DFx exceptions that relates to the end goal to reach thermal performance target, develop manufacturing design innovationsAssess manufacturing SOP and propose waste reduction, cost optimization, recommend technology aids, product design changes, and workspace layout modification to achieve optimum quality and efficiencyCoordinate the purchase of special equipment, materials, and other parts to ensure they meet intended use, specifications, and quality standards.Perform surveys and audits for new supplier selection and qualification with functional teams. What We Need To See:Self-starter and self-motivated, great teammate, strong can-do mentality, ability to learn quickly and operate outside of comfort-zone, visualize, clarify product system assembly needs through design for manufacturing optimization.Bachelor's degree in thermal, manufacturing engineering, or equivalent experience, with a proven background in thermal fabrication and assembly, working knowledge in vapor chamber, heat pipe, heat sink, CDU, fans, etc, also as it relates to electrical products.8+ years of experienceHands-on thermal experience in GPU, server and consumer electronics products, proficiency in thermal manufacturing good practice, product design suggestions, and ability to drive multiple projects, product manufacturing processes development simultaneously.Analyze a problem from multiple perspectives and explore creative solutions.Good experience with thermal simulation toolsStrong project management skills / Good understanding of commonly used thermal testing & inspection method and instrument / familiar with all aspects of the NPI process / Excellent oral/written communication skillsWays To Stand Out From The Crowd:Creative, articulate, influential, collaborative, committed and engagingA good balance of thermal design and manufacturing experienceStrong awareness of thermal manufacturing technologies, such as heat pipe, fan, 3D VC, liquid Cooling, vapor chamber, CDU, etc.Knowledge of high cosmetic standard productsServer products related experienceOwnership, passion for craftsmanshipWith competitive salaries and a generous benefits package, we are widely considered to be one of the technology world’s most desirable employers.
