NVIDIA is looking for scientists with strong expertise in foundational areas of artificial intelligence, such as deep learning, reinforcement learning, generative modeling, trustworthy AI, optimization, neural programming, causal reasoning, and their applications to emerging areas such as AI for science, embodied AI, multimodal learning, high-dimensional perception, etc. You are expected to have a strong mathematical foundation and be capable of analyzing and developing new AI algorithms. Interest in scientific applications, such as weather forecasting, drug discovery, and healthcare, is a plus. You are also expected to have strong programming skills to implement and run empirical studies at scale. The position will focus on fundamental research, with the freedom and bandwidth to conduct ground-breaking publishable research. At the same time, you will also have the opportunity to have an impact on products and collaborate with teams that focus on AI products based on CUDA, physically-based simulation, graphics, natural language processing, autonomous driving, HW optimization, robotics, healthcare, and many more. We encourage candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply for this position.What you'll be doing:Define your research, design and implement cutting-edge machine learning techniques.Publish your original research and present at top-tier conferences and events.Collaborate with other research team members, a diverse set of internal product teams, and external researchers.Have a broader impact through transfer and/or open-source of the technology you've developed to relevant product groups.Mentor passionate research interns to explore and implement machine learning algorithms.What we need to see:Completing or recently completed a Ph.D. in Computer Science/Engineering (or equivalent experience),2+ years of meaningful experience as part of an Industrial research lab with a strong / well-cited publication record to well known international conferencesKnowledge of machine learning theory with enough depth and breadth.Strong communication skills and ability to convey research ideas to a broad audience.An impactful research record with publications in top machine-learning conferences.Experience in core AI algorithmic research is required. Interest in scientific applications is a plusExcellent programming skills in Python and familiarity with the AI stack. Knowledge of custom CUDA extensions to accelerate AI stack is a plus.Knowledge of machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch and Tensorflow.Are you dedicated, upbeat and dynamic with excellent analytical ability?
