NVIDIA, the industry leader in AI, is looking for a Systems Engineer and PCI Express Expert to join our Datacenter System Engineering (DCSE) Team to help deliver the next generation of DSCI High Performance Computing (HPC) server products. You will be working with a team of designers, programmers and data center engineers on the definition, development, and deployment of the most sophisticated GPU-based server designs in the world. DCSE System Engineers are part of a multidisciplinary team of elite engineering talent. We help navigate critical decisions in our server development efforts by devising strategies that enable the integration of silicon, optics, compute modules, baseboards, thermal-mechanical and industrial design elements into HPC servers, which are then used to implement datacenter clusters. The qualified candidate will possess a balance of skills including electrical engineering, knowledge of software, firmware, and embedded systems. An in-depth understanding of Linux is highly valuable. Come and join us! What you’ll be doing:Partner closely with System Architects, internal and external design teams to ensure our products PCI Express subsystem is specification compliant and tuned for optimal performance.Working with our System Architects and Performance teams to ensure our products and installed options support the latest PCIe Gen 6 protocol capabilities.Partnering with our internal teams on protocol debug and analysis.Performing bring-ups of new hardware and solving tough system and board level issues with a focus on PCI Express at a system level.Reviewing board schematics, PCB layouts, and making design and component suggestions.Help clear the path for release to our external customers by refining early prototypes of new products to deliver optimal usability, quality, and manufacturability.Work in close partnership with validation engineers and participate in collaborative development efforts with firmware and software engineers to resolve issues. What we need to see:BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience).6+ years in server or computer system development with an emphasis on PCI Express.In-depth understanding of the PCI Express protocol, specification, and its operation at a system level.Micro-architecture experience in PCI Express Transaction Layer and strong familiarity with Data Link Layer and Physical LayerWorking knowledge of topics including transaction ordering, virtualization, MMUs, cache coherence, and host bridge functionsExperienced in the operation of logic and protocol analyzer, and protocol exercisers.Experience with the operation of a PCI Express Root complex, Retimers, Switches, and other components.Effective communication, verbal, and written skills while working closely with key architect teams to align product requirements.Experience in driving programs and projects across multi-functional teams and across companies.Experience in debugging and problem-solving complex system issues.With competitive salaries and a generous benefits package, we are widely considered to be one of the technology world’s most desirable employers.
