The successful candidate will be expected to design and verify analog IPs and sub-blocks in nanometer CMOS technologies. They must be capable of defining and implementing optimal circuit architectures and transistor-level circuit solutions to achieve a variety of challenging noise, distortion, power consumption and cost requirements. The key responsibilities for the role include:• Design and verification of analog circuits and complex IPs.• Ownership of block level specifications and architecture scoping based on customer requirements• Complete design ownership to transistor level implementation with oversight physical layout. • Documentation and design review presentation to internal and external audiences.The successful candidate should have:• A good Bachelors, Masters, or Doctoral degree in Electronics or a related discipline.• Solid experience of analog and mixed-signal IC design, preferably in nanometer CMOS technologies. Detailed knowledge of the design flow from high-level modeling, through schematic entry and simulation, to layout and physical verification. • Good verbal and written communication skills and documentation ability.• Skill understanding and interpreting specs and translating specs to circuit requirements. • Be self-motivated to learn and improve, value good teamwork and have positive outlook. • Experience of one or more of the following technical areas:o Data converter design.o Amplifier (LNAs, OTAs, and PGAs) and line driver design.o Embedded power management.o Low power precision analog design techniques.o Digitally assisted analog design techniques including frontend digital design skills.• Experience and a working knowledge in analog and mixed-signal design and debug tools in many of the areas below:o Schematic, layout, and simulation flow (e.g. Cadence Virtuoso).o Spectre and/or other SPICE circuit simulators.o High level modeling (e.g MATLAB) and scripting (e.g. python, perl).o Analog behavioral modeling using Verilog-A or Verilog-AMS.o Digital design flow from RTL through synthesis and timing analysis.o Mixed signal simulators.o Lab evaluation of analog and mixed-signal ICs.Broadcom is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
