As an Account Manager at Clarivate, you will be responsible for driving revenue within your designated territory which may include Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho and Utah. You will manage an established list of accounts, developing strong rapport with your clients and helping them to drive toward their goals. This role exclusively calls on academic institutions across the region. As Account Manager, you will identify opportunities and manage the process of identifying the correct solution and engaging the Sales Specialist, Customer Relationship Manager, and other teams across the organization to provide the client with best-in-class customer service. The Account Manager will have a strong understanding of the “rhythm” of selling to achieve both quarterly and annual objectives.By providing Data, Workflow, or Content solutions, you will help to enhance the university and academic experience. In a vertical that is always ready to devour the next innovation you will carry a bag full of solutions for every scenario.50% travel is required for this position, mostly local.About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishmentsBachelors’ degree plus at least 3 years’ related experience as a direct field sales professional or equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum 3 years previous experience and success in selling and closing customers, creating value, and managing a pipeline.It would be great if you also have . . .Experience using an enterprise-wide CRM such as Salesforce.com or similar.Experience selling to universities and academic institutions.What will you be doing in this role?Owns the assigned territory and individual account plan coordination, working closely with product specialists, trainers, and renewal teams to develop an overall account plan to grow long term revenue.Influences and motivates others in a matrixed sales organization (particularly those who do not directly report to the Account Manager) to support and drive towards shared goals.Focuses on new and renewal business as part of expanding Clarivate's footprint within the account.Leads RFP coordination and development as needed; seeking opportunities to unite multiple RFP or current investments and collaborating with product specialists as appropriate.Manages full portfolio forecast (renewals and new business) including specialty products and content; works closely with product specialist and support teams to ensure forecast accuracy.Ensures progress within the account plan and alignment to other objectives in the account.About the Team This team is an exceptional collection of professionals who work every day to drive revenue and develop creative models that help universities to achieve their current and future objectives.
