You will lead enterprise data governance and core data management initiatives to lay the foundation of our enterprise data intelligence platform.We use leading modern cloud platforms on AWS, Data Bricks technologies like Spark, Airflow, and Kafka including Reltio, Tableau, Snap Logic, and Collibra, Acceldata.About the RoleWe are looking for a Data Catalog Engineer who will be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of processes, policies, and procedures for managing, controlling, and analyzing enterprise data assets. You'll be responsible for ensuring that data is compliant with applicable laws and regulations, while also optimizing the use of data for business decisions. You'll work closely with other teams to identify and resolve data related issues and develop solutions to improve its usage.ResponsibilitiesDevelop data governance metrics and KPIs to track data compliance and performance.Supervise data usage and provide mentorship on appropriate uses of data and audit data quality and usage.See opportunities to optimize data usage and develop solutions to enhance data utilization.Develop and maintain data dictionaries and data quality standards.Design and implement data security standards and policies.Troubleshoot data-related issues.Contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of the data governance program.Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.Knowledge of data analysis and reporting tools.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.About YouBasic Qualifications6+ years of experience as a data engineer in a fast paced, dynamic environment.3+ years of experience with Collibra DIC, Collibra DQ, Acceldata or other SaaS data governance tools.Strong experience in developing metadata driven frameworks using Python and Java.Experience working with product owners in an agile environment to deliver scalable data products on scalable infrastructure.Experience in cloud technologies to process data using tools like Airflow, Spark, Fivetran, and Prophecy.Experience investigating relational databases and reviewing complex SQL queries that transform data into metrics and KPIs.Other QualificationsExperience with Data Governance and Data Quality initiatives and frameworks.Experience in drafting and leading data policies, business data processes and business glossaries.Experience inspiring change for data management including: product/program management, change management and change readiness, software development process methodologies, and data qualityStrong communication, engagement, and presentation experience in a dynamic, cross-functional organizationKnowledge of business processes, technical practices impacting governance and data quality is meaningfulExperience with metadata and reference data software packages / architectureOur Approach to Flexible Work With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote.
