Effectively interacts with other internal and external teams, including the design engineering, site engineering, regional operations teams, onsite support vendors and consultants on projects, policies and procedures within a moderate scope.ResponsibilitiesSystem Operation and Work PracticesPerforms maintenance and repairs on control systems, and develops SOWs for sophisticated control system maintenance and replacement projectsAbility to apply knowledge of Equinix process and procedure to resolve issuesUses safe working practicesProblem SolvingIdentifies and understands underlying issues; differentiates key elements from the irrelevant or trivialCan identify and correct component level faultsInternal and External ContactInteracts with and may provide direction to internal and external project teamsAssists in leading teams per project or initiative such as General Contractors, design teams, commissioning agents, equipment suppliers, etcInternal and external written and verbal communication to include detailed analysis and reportsTechnical ExpertiseUses developed understanding of typical electrical, fire protection, and HVAC system operationKnowledge of control systems to diagnose and repair advanced technical difficultiesQualificationsExperience in control system design, operations and maintenanceBachelor’s Degree in controls, electrical or mechanical engineering preferredAbility to connect with customersSophisticated building management system (BMS) or energy management system (EMS) operation skillsMust understand the electrical topologies commonly found in data centersAbility to interpret system control strategies and architecture using Sequence of Operation (SOO) and P&ID drawings, SAMA diagrams or equivalentAbility to problem solve sophisticated issuesKnowledge of the BACnet, Modbus and OPC communications protocols including protocol definition, implementation strategies and solving as well as experience with data collection and conversion software such as Kepware, Matricon, TopView, OSISoft Pi is helpfulExperience identifying and implementing operational efficiency improvement initiatives is desiredPersonnel shall be able to travel if neededEquinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.
