We embrace diversity in thought and contribution and are committed to providing an equitable work environment that is foundational to our core values as a company and is vital to our success.Job SummaryDefines, develops and manages the lifecycle of a product from concept to launch to end of life.Responsibilities Provide business leadership for Equinix’s Edge Infrastructure networking platform, as an enabler for all networking products and services. This includes Internet peering and transit, multi-cloud interconnection with collocation and cloud environments, and networking roadmaps for Metal and Network EdgeExecute the Equinix Metal strategy to power the world’s digital leaders with digital infrastructure, including opportunity analysis, planning, GTM (Go-to-Market) strategy, execution, and launchPartner with, and deeply listen to, customers and field sales to identify unmet needs and new use casesManage and communicate the roadmap. Participate in creating a shared vision and clear goals for the productManage the backlog: Prioritize the few items to move forward among many candidates based on an analysis of the business opportunity vs level of effort Partner with UX, solution architects, and engineering to ideate solutions, placing a premium on user experience Collaborate with product engineering, network architects, network deployment, and service delivery teams in the rollout of new offerings, features, releases, and marketsManage stakeholder expectations within and/or across functions; Identify and proactively include correct stakeholders and communicate effectively; Understand stakeholder needs and build effective relationships; Utilize effective methods of communication with stakeholders, varying approaches accordinglyDefine metrics that will be used to inform product success and help drive user experience improvementsKeep GTM and supportability front-of-mind in designing product offeringsDesign product training curriculum; participates in cross-functional training and meetingsRun the business: analyze and optimize value chain activities; establish and monitor KPIs; implements course corrections as needed. Maintain a keen awareness of budgeting (Capex & Opex) and P&L for the Edge Infrastructure network platform and servicesOther responsibilities include supporting market assessments with qualitative and quantitative research; validating the problem space; sizing the market; meaningfully segmenting it; determining segment attractiveness, developing theory of competitive advantage and implications for the value chain; create business case and impacts to EBITDA. Research competitors and verticals; prepares reports related to financial position, competitive position, and market potentialQualifications 10+ years of combined experience in software development with at least 5 years in a product management roleBachelor’s degree in CS, EE or relevant field of study, MBA preferredA proven record of accomplishment taking complex software networking products to market from early ideation, prototype, through General Availability, including go-to-market motionsMust include references to press releases, blogs, industry publications, podcasts, or webinars you participated in as a SME (Subject Matter Expert)Experience building complex networking software at scale (e.g., VPC (Virtual Private Cloud), load balancers, firewalls, IPAM) with a focus on resilience, and automation of well tested production ready softwareMust have an end-to-end understanding of Cloud/multi-cloud networking including L2-L3 networking technologies, such as MPLS, Segment Routing, and EVPN/VXLAN, at cloud scaleExperience in designing and implementing API interfaces using REST Data Center networks experience with collocation, IP peering and transit; Network hardware and Operating System development; network service orchestration; virtualization, networking, SDN, NFV, management and orchestration (e.g., K8s), APIs, requiredExperience with agile methodologies; JIRA and sprint planning A background in Metro/Carrier Networks, Mobile Networks (e.g., 5G) a plus The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:San Francisco, CA / Bay Area:  $160,000 to $273,000California (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state:  $153,000 to $261,000Colorado, Nevada, Rhode Island:  $139,000 to $237,000Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.This position may be offered in other locations.
