Alongside this, the Datacentre Operations Assistant will ensure the facilities are maintained in a clean and professional manner at all time. Furthermore, the Datacentre Operations Assistant will also facilitate the smooth flow of information so tasks can be carried out efficiently and professionally and they will also identify and resolve related issues in order to meet the business requirements.ResponsibilitiesInstallationsAssists the Operations Team in Customer InstallationsQueue ManagementUpdates customers on assets and deliveries via the Siebel queue and ensures alignment to all pre-defined SLAsCross ConnectsAssists Operations Team with running Structured CablingDocumentation/ReportingMaintains detailed written records of all work activityMaintains a log on internal systems of incoming and outgoing deliveries, in line with company procedure, both for accounting and accountability purposesProjectsSupports fulfillment of projects with direction from senior staffTrainingFinishes the assigned training in a timely mannerCustomer ManagementSupports customer happiness through timely and precise order executionOperational SupportOperates and co-ordinates incoming and outgoing deliveries, both for internal and external customers, providing prompt and efficient responses and explains on-site procedures. This also includes goods lift supervision during deliveriesLifts equipment up to and in excess of 25kgs - correct Lifting equipment to be utilized where necessarySupervises contractors carrying out work within the Data CentreMaintains a secure site by rigidly following and applying security proceduresEnsures health & safety guidelines is followed and raises any issues deemed to be detrimental to cause a hazardAssists Operations and Facilities staff as requiredDatacentre MaintenanceMaintains and cleans the site to a suitably professional level, ensuring no items attributed to deliveries cause a hazardEnsures datacentre waste due to deliveries and customer equipment is disposed of in accordance with Equinix policies and proceduresQualificationsEssentialComputer-literacy / IT skills (email, internal systems,Internet etc.).
