The role will be part of the team leading the Equinix Energy Procurement and Sustainability program and will work globally with other project teams and stakeholders to provide strategic support and leadership to deliver the program in APAC.The role is global in nature which entails heavy collaboration with teams and consultants across various countries and time zones. This may require early morning or evening zoom calls, but the expectation is that you’ll always maintain a healthy and sustainable work-life balance. Travel will be occasional (10-20% of the time) and domestic and international. The hiring is open to Australia (Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane) or Singapore.ResponsibilityResponsible for day-to-day management of energy contracts across various markets in APAC.Engage with energy consultant to monitor market trends to understand technical details around available electricity products in those markets.Program manage service delivery by consultants on key global energy program workstreams such as energy bill payment and energy invoice validation within the EMEA region.Provide analysis and research support for commodity-, non-commodity and regulated price elements in support of budget forecasting and identify opportunities for the optimization of these costsSupport development of annual energy budget including supporting the FP&A team with Qtrly MPQs, monthly accruals and reporting on regional performance against budgetSupport the drive for quality and efficiency in energy budgets and cost forecasts through the further development of existing, and/or introduction of new, processes, tools and systems.Provide analytical and research support in development and management of renewable energy procurement strategy to support overall long-term corporate sustainability objectivesProvide analytical support in assessing renewable energy PPA opportunities across the region including performing market analysis of sustainability products to meet global goalWork with internal teams and energy consultant to ensure full participation in key program elements so that resulting data and information is sufficiently detailed, complete, accurate, and auditable so as to be used for external reporting agencies such as Global Reporting Initiative or Carbon Disclosure ProjectEstablish and manage relationships with internal stakeholders including supporting the Utilities & Energy team, Global Operations, Accounting, Sales & customers, Investor & Analyst Relations and MarketingRegularly present internal/external groups as necessaryQualificationProven experience in energy sector (Buyer / Supplier / Utility / Energy Consultancy) and/or sustainability experienceNumerate or analytical degree in a business / economics / engineering / similar discipline Demonstrated program management and delivery skills, showcasing ownership and accountability combined with aptitude for workstream organization and ongoing improvement.Experience with tools and systems to handle, analyze and compare large sets of cost data.Broad understanding of Power Purchasing Agreements (PPA’s) in APAC including experience with financial modelling & analysis of PPA’sAbility to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with the local and international teams within the companyProfessional and self-motivated with the ability to be office-based and to work remotelyDemonstrated ability to work and learn independently, with guidance and direction from managerCommunicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, successfully interfacing with all internal and external stakeholdersEquinix is an Equal Employment Opportunity and, in the U.S., an Affirmative Action employer.
