Effectively interact with and coordinate the efforts of inter-departmental team members, including the in-house corporate operations engineering personnel, the operations engineering staff at all data center sites, information technology, information security, networking, marketing, outside support vendors and consultants. Effectively communicate with customers where necessary.ResponsibilitiesMonitor the Aveva System PlatformDevelop and update design standards for data center controls systemsSupport the development and implementation of Aveva System Platform improvements including solutions to exchange data between Aveva System Platform and other enterprise data system such as Maximo, Siebel and Caplogix as well as improving templates to increase functionality and reduce deployment and maintenance timeDevelop, distribute, and support system configuration and maintenance guidesSupport controls cybersecurity strategy and executionMentor junior engineersLead small to medium scale projectsLead internal engineering training and seminarsProvide logic and graphical programming for controls systemsTroubleshoot all elements of the controls system, including field devices, controllers, network components and software systemsAssist on-site data center engineering personnel in working with local controls vendorsInvestigates incidents and provide root cause analysisReview existing controls systems for single points of failure and provide suggestions for remediationUse data analysis including machine learning to optimize systems, increase energy efficiency and lower power usageAssist with development, implementation and troubleshooting of Smart View, Equinix's Data Center Infrastructure Management system (DCIM)Utilize safe working practices at an expert level. Evaluate and assure the safe working practices of others.
