Applicants with an engineering mindset and capabilities from various backgrounds will be considered, including but not limited to electrical, mechanical, controls, military and telco’s. A trade certificate or degree (complete or near completed) will be highly regarded but not a prerequisite as we are willing to spend significant time to train mentor and develop the right candidate.With a clearly defined and direct career progression path, a willingness to learn, attain and maintain key information will be highly regarded. You will work with a small, dedicated and experienced team around you in a collaborative role where teamwork is integral to the site’s success.Responsibilities:Facility / Infrastructure MaintenanceShadows senior engineers in preventative and corrective maintenance checks on-site to facility componentsAssists with difficult repairs, maintenance, installations and on-site inspections to facility systems. Supports energy efficiency measuresMonitors the Building Monitoring System (BMS) and resolves basic alarm issues that require judgement in resolving while following standard operating procedures. (SOP's)Operates and maintains plumbing, fire suppression, and safety systems and other critical infrastructures under the supervision of more senior technical staffNormally receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on newly introduced assignmentsVendor SupportSupports the work approval process for service providers on moderately difficult maintenance work, for tracking: briefing at the start of work, work during the day workday/shift and final review of the work carried out. Ensures vendor maintenance activities are carried out as per Equinix's SOPsIn cooperation with vendors, supports modifications to technical files for plants and equipment ensuring files and builds are up-to-dateSite Administration & Incident SupportPerforms moderately difficult site logs for permits, such as Maintenance Operation Protocol (MOPs) and scriptsWork Orders & Additional ProjectsCompletes routine work requests and circuit installationsMakes minor changes to mechanical, electrical and specialized systems, as directed, and builds out knowledge over timeCarries out infrastructure projects, of which will become more complex over time and experienceLearns to install 'across' connect circuits (switched, multiplexed, etc.), under supervisionQualifications and ExperienceEngineering mindset and technical aptitude to attain and maintain key informationIdeally an industry related certificate or qualification (but not mandatory)Willingness to learn the Equinix way and be a positive add to our culturePrevious work or exposure in electrical/telco/mechanical/hardware environment will be highly regardedPositive outlook towards learning a new industry and ability to work well with customers, vendors and senior colleaguesBenefits of the roleClear and defined career progression pathway within the Facilities team, will limitless opportunities across the businessDedicated onboarding, training and ongoing support in the role to ensure successful applicant's continuous personal and professional developmentSupporting management and senior engineering team to enable you to develop across all operationsSalary including annual bonus and pay review, healthcare allowance!Equinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.
