Job Summary:Title: Student Ambassador, UJC Summit - Fall 2023Location: New York, NY (On-Site)Team Roc, Roc Nation’s social justice and philanthropic division, is seeking candidates from across the United States to serve as Student Ambassadors for the next United Justice Coalition (UJC) Summit in New York City. Student Ambassadors will be an integral part of the success of the UJC Summit in 2023 by ensuring nationwide participation among multiple stakeholders including students, public officials, social justice organizations, activists and more. Ambassadors will also participate in planning meetings to assist with program content.(This is an unpaid 10-week Fall internship opportunity for credit starting in September 2023 at the Roc Nation Headquarters in NYC.)Learning Opportunities for the UJC Summit Student State Ambassadors include:Outreach + RecruitmentTrain with Team Roc on best practices for targeted outreach to educational institutions, local officials, activists, and social justice organizations in your designated stateMaintain an active list of all contacts and maintain close communication with internal and external vendors, track communications and follow up in a timely manner and as neededSchedule in-person or virtual meetings with school leaders and student affairs representatives Conduct grassroots outreach including flyering in local communities, schools and organizationsActively update planning team on outreach efforts and provide any recruitment updates and/or challenges Digital Marketing + PromotionsCollaborate with Digital Marketing team to engage with targeted audience using all official UJC marketing materials - promote UJC Summit to outreach networks on social media (IG, TikTok, FB, LinkedIn, etc and on emails/list-servs)Assist with identifying local media, social and broadcast outlets to promote UJC Summit 2023Provide suggestions to the planning team for improving user experience and spreading brand awarenessContent and Program DevelopmentAssist with research on topics and/or speakersAssist with research on social justice organizations and impactAdvise on content that engages student voices and participationAdministration + ReportingProvide progress reports on a weekly basis to your designated supervisorSupport Team Roc administratively in day to day operations, creating meeting agendas, taking meeting minutes and providing updates to managementOther learning experiences related to the projectCandidate Requirements:Must be able to attend all weekly meetings (virtual or in person)Must be current student, enrolled in a Bachelor’s/Master’s program at an accredited college or universityMust be fully vaccinated and have first booster shot against COVID-19Bilingual Proficiency and/or Spanish Speaking skills a plusComputer proficiency with MS Office products and Google SuiteExperience managing and navigating social media communicationsExcellent written, oral and interpersonal skills and ability to connect with various constituencies Strong ability to work independently as well as within and across teams in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environmentFlexible with changing priorities and multi-tasking while maintaining a positive, optimistic attitude and demeanorShare an authentic passion for cause-driven workAmbassador Perks:This is an unpaid internship for academic credit.The opportunity to intern at Roc Nation’s headquarters in NYCTransportation Stipend to the Summit in DecemberMerchandise and access to special eventsRecognition on Team Roc and UJC socials at the UJC SummitApplication:In addition to this application, please complete this Google Form.
