Many great details go into each event: from planning to sales, managing entry during the event and post event reports and analysis. As designers at Ticketmaster, we are responsible of ensuring this robust functionality stays simple and elegant. We design for a wide range of devices and roles that together bring amazing entertainment to fans. We bring delight into our clients and on-the-ground teams’ day to day tasks with our unique range of ticketing and event management solutions. While Ticketmaster’s product teams keep the user at the forefront of our solution design, we, the designers, are the specialists in research techniques, mapping and ideation workshops, building agile trials and closing the feedback loop.THE ROLEAs Director of Design at Enterprise Core you will be assigned to the Core and Platform areas, where you’ll be focusing on the end-to-end service of our Enterprise software. While Core teams focus on our back end tooling and ticketing service, Platform team enable all other product areas with shared software services, such as Identity Management, Navigation, Global Search.You will be managing a team of designers – all responsible for platform wide functionality. Your team hold a diversity of skills, from Service Analysis and Mapping, Design System and Platform strategy. You and your team will be accountable for researching and documenting full processes on various granularity levels whilst working with other design leads and management to ensure an industry-leading overall client experience.You will join a globally distributed team and you’ll work on a compelling global client offering.You will be responsible for managing stakeholder expectations, aligning client service objectives to product roadmaps, and developing achievable schedules to ensure strategic goals and timelines are met. You will be capable of solutioning for diverse problem sets, defining new frameworks, independently conducting ideation workshops to bring further alignment.You’ll keep skills fresh and be able to share best practices, technical trends and developments with the wider team.You will guide your teams to achieve design excellence through data-driven insights, strong creative vision, and effective leadership. You will be accountable for the overall success of your products and team. You will be measured on how well your products’ experiences stack up and perform against the core business objectives and the wider, exceptionally competitive Enterprise digital landscape. You will also be measured on how successfully your team have achieved demonstrable success in product and personal performance. You have experience with and are comfortable leading conversations with clients, synthesizing their feedback and utilizing it to improve the overall user experience. Previous design leadership role within a B2B, SaaS or Rich Internet Application environment is required. Global or multi-national team management experience desired. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOINGProduct Delivery, Strategic Planning and AlignmentDeliver best in class user experiences for our clients, external and internal.Be accountable for all product design deliverables, processes, and standards in your assigned area(s)Collaborate with and align goals, schedules, and processes with senior management, stakeholders, and cross-functional counterparts to meet wider aims and timelines of Ticketmaster successfully. Understand and translate the short, medium and long-term vision and strategic business goals to direct reports. Develop clear and effective design project plans, including user research and design delivery schedules, for all responsible product areas. Set clear expectations and communicate plans and progress explicitly and consistently with senior management, PMO, Product, Engineering and direct reports. Apply critical thinking and rigour to ensure business, client and end user perspectives have all been accounted for and prioritised in context. Ensure innovation, creativity and exceptional quality are part of the final and built solution. Collaborate with Product Marketing to devise scalable product asset share and relevant brand systems. Design Team and Infrastructure Management Lead design requirements discovery and goal clarification workshops.Help stream leads plan and apply appropriate UX & Product Design methodologies to support product objectives. As such, coach all Product Designers to: Plan and conduct user, market, and competitive researchParticipate in and/or lead ideation workshops with cross-functional teams.Produce relevant design artefacts & documentation to convey context & vision and to aid in design decision making: User types, journey maps, decision matrices, wireframes, storyboards, prototypes, data/insights, presentations Use core information architecture and interaction design skills to take design deliverables through a full project lifecycle.Conduct benchmark and validation usability tests and maintain a database of test subjects.Conduct stress tests and design QA tests to ensure deliveries meet specifications. Work with the Analytics and product management teams to ensure measurable design decisions are being made.Manage and/or contribute to Enterprise Design System, appropriate product brand guidelines, etc. Review, edit, and ensure all design artefacts are to exceptional standards and help and empower teams to achieve this on their own with minimal supervision.Collaborate with other Enterprise design leads to manage and evolve the Enterprise Data Dashboards, Design System, and other infrastructure programs Ensure that Ticketmaster visual identity is integrated sympathetically into features and ensure that visual standards are constantly benchmarked and evolved to ensure competitive edgeDevelop and maintain lasting stakeholder, client and/or market relationships to ensure continuity in support/input during design ideation and validation processes. Team Growth, Development, Innovation, and Thought LeadershipDevelop individualized professional development plans for direct reports and coach them through success. Coach stream leads how to lead and mentor their own teams. Build team members’ core and soft skills through well-considered and appropriate professional development programs, projects, and/or activities. Start establishing presence as an expert and evangelize product design through frequent and effective idea shares, communication, and storytelling Develop strong relationships and establish position of influence with counterparts across the organization, particularly Product, Engineering and Marketing. Keep skills fresh and be informed of best practices, technical and process trends and developments. Continually introduce them into the workflow to keep Ticketmaster competitive and to attract and retain world class talent.Get involved with external design community and participate in industry events and dialogue and start representing Ticketmaster in a professional capacity. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOWExceptional portfolio demonstrating strong problem-solving capabilities and systematic or strategic approach to cross-platform product design:Deep experience designing cross platform, client products at global and/or enterprise-scale. Proven experience in multi-stream team and line management, professional development, and mentoringProven track record of leading & delivering multiple concurrent projects on time and on budgetExpert grounding in principles, methodology, and practices of digital product design with proven hands-on experience in a working environment, i.e. UX design, UX research, interface design, mobile app design, interaction design, content strategy, etc. Ability to think creatively, to collaborate and to present ideas to senior stakeholders, clients, team members, product managers, and engineersAbility to provide a range of innovative and compositionally strong product design vision/solutions directly as well as through team.
