The team is organized by industries (‘Verticals’, such as Consumer Electronics, Home & Garden, Fashion, or Motors) and horizontal teams such as trading and planning functions.We are currently recruiting for our Home & Garden Vertical team in Berlin / Dreilinden an interim (parental cover for 8 months) Category Manager Home Interior (m/f/d).ResponsibilitiesThe Category Manager will manage and develop one or multiple categories within the Home & Garden Vertical team. The role includes strategy definition, operational cadences (insights, reporting, trading), relationship with allocated brands and retailers and a close alignment with our Product Management department to further develop e.g. our user experience.The Category Manager will also lead wider, cross-functional and cross-category projects.Responsibilities include:Provide an ongoing inventory- / category management including coordination, delivery of category insights as well as sourcing and marketing of inventory.Analysis of inventory insights, product trends, market data, industry dynamics, customer shopping trends and the competitive landscape to assess growth opportunities and product improvements.Manage business performance based on defined critical metrics.Build and strengthen relationships with sellers and manufacturers to identify and implement scaling opportunities and resolve all operational issues through liaison with the customer support team.Identify and source relevant and market leading inventory to support execution of strategy.Cross-organisational collaboration with other teams (marketing, customer service, product management and others) in conceptualizing, planning as well as executing campaigns and initiatives.RequirementsYou will have:5+ years of experience as a category manager, merchandiser, sourcer or buyer within (online) retail environment, preferably in Home & Garden categories (ideally Furniture, Home Accessories, and similar categories).Very experienced at negotiating ranges & promotion with suppliers in complex negotiations.Able to target merchandise & appropriate sources of that merchandise & work with sellers to get it to site quickly.Ability to work tactically & strategically to drive & respond to business performance.Very good analytical skills/thinking.Ability to manage smaller projects across teams.Excellent communication and presentation skills in large or small group settingsAbility to build rapport to internal and external stakeholders of any level (from operations to C-Level).Team player attitude with strong interpersonal skills.General proficiency with tools, systems, and procedures required to accomplish the job.A university degree or relevant training.Fluent English and German.Don’t meet every single requirement?
