THE OPPORTUNITYeBay is seeking a dynamic, creative, collaborative, driven and highly skilled communicator to advance the company’s CEO communications efforts. We are looking for an individual who has demonstrated success in both internal and external communications, corporate communications, as well as CEO and executive communications. This individual will lead eBay’s CEO communications, partnering closely with the Global Communications team and executive leaders in creating narratives, content, stories and events to support leadership and employee communications and engagement. The Senior Director of CEO Communications will provide proactive, 360-degree strategic counsel on business communications initiatives. The role is based in San Jose, California, and reports to the VP of Global Communications.Responsibilities:Develop and ensure consistent messaging and cohesive communications strategies across the executive team.Oversee all aspects of CEO communications, working closely with Global Communications team and partners to design and scale company-wide programs, including CEO thought leadership.Inspire confidence and build strong and effective relationships with members of the global executive leadership team to gain a deep understanding of their business needs and provide integrated, innovative communications and cross-functional solutions, as well as strategic communications counsel and coaching.Formulate strategic plans based on insights/research/analysis and translate those into measurable objectives, strategies, and action that helps the business achieve its goals.Develop a strategy across all facets of communications, including internal and external, social, content studio and media relationsRequirements:10+ years of communications experience in roles that have driven understanding and positive perception of companies, products, and services.Executive Leadership experience in communications roles for large, global organizations. Experience executing programs across multiple markets and channels.Ability to proactively identify market and business-aligned communication opportunities and collaborate with global teams to develop, lead, and influence programs. Experience creating and managing strategic plans, budgets, and metrics and regularly evaluating and communicating progress.Experience building, leading, developing, coaching, and retaining a high-performing team of experienced, motivated, and passionate colleagues.Inspires others to achieve great results and creates an environment that enables teams to thrive.An orientation towards operational rigor and discipline using a variety of global processes and world-class methodologies.Excellent business acumen, consulting, and relationship management skills.Collaborative problem solver, with a high level of maturity and judgment.Support and further develop a team through coaching, mentoring, and empowerment.Strong leadership profile, with a combination of vision, execution-orientation, integrity, discretion, and passion for developing people.The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York City is expected in the range below.$184,000 - $312,400Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
