We support all activities on eBay that require money movement and beyond. We build critical software that has immediate impact on millions of eBay users throughout the world. We are seeking a seasoned software engineer who is passionate about utilizing the latest technologies to bring the best user experience to our customers. The candidate will work closely with the various business units, product management, architecture and operations as well as third party software vendors. The candidate is expected to be a self-starter and a team player, a strong driver for results.Collaborate with engineers, business units, product management, architects, and operations teams to build solutions in the Payments domain. Lead and estimate engineering effort, plan implementations, and rollout for applications integrating with cross-functional components. Design, develop and test major features while working in an Agile Scrum team.Job Responsibilities:Design, develop and support projects throughout all phases of the software development life cycleDevelop innovative solutions that meet market needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules, and adherence to development goals and principlesParticipate in all aspects of PDLC including requirement/design reviews as well as code reviewsCreate testing harness/infrastructure/test cases/Automation geared towards ensuring quality of the productEstimate engineering effort, plan implementation, and rollout system changesLead product initiatives, recommend improvements, mentor and guide junior team membersIdentify project risks and work effectively to mitigate themShare release management duties on feature rollouts,Develop industry and product technical expertiseFind and help fix stability/scalability issues in a very time critical environmentJob Qualifications:Ability to think out of the box in solving real world problems.A portfolio or work samples demonstrating coding skills (e.g links to Github repository from open source contributions).Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills.Payment Industry experience a plusBachelor's degree with 8+ years of experienceMaster’s degree with 6 years of experienceExperience with Java, Oracle DB, NoSQL.Experience with other technologies eBay is using, such as NodeJS, HTML, Javascript, CSS, AJAX would be a plus!Benefits are an essential part of your total compensation for the work you do every day. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
