They will lead the concepting and story development, production and post-production of our Communications multimedia content. The Head of Video & Multimedia is a strategic thinker, a problem solver, and a strong storyteller with a passion for filmmaking and visual-first content.As part of the Communications Content team, they will produce the kind of innovative, impactful and memorable cross-channel work that inspires, invigorates and connects our eBay community.This leader will help grow and evolve our videos and multimedia content, experimenting with new formats, technologies and channels, mentoring our creatives and taking a test-and-learn approach to content creation. They will be comfortable working in all aspects of filmmaking, switching hats from producing to directing to filming and editing – along with providing supervision and leadership to our video team.They will also collaborate with other content creators within the Communications Content Studio, business partners, agencies and customers to bring eBay’s stories and concepts to life. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure messaging and creative execution is consistent across platforms.They will also manage and operate our onsite video studio at our San Jose headquarters with our local team.Key Skills/QualificationsA passion for storytelling and filmmakingA great eye for composition and a good sense of aestheticsComprehensive understanding of production process, including experience in on-set live action supervision and post production with a meticulous eye for detailVideo production includes: familiarity with professional cameras (Sony/Canon), pre-production, studio and field production, lighting, scriptwriting, storyboarding and photographyAudio production includes: compression, EQ, effects processors and audio recording techniques for studio and fieldPost-production entails digital video editing, still and motion graphics design and video compression for multiple delivery platformsFluent in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Audition)Experience with motion graphics a plusExcellent storytelling, storyboarding and communication skillsHave solid understanding of 2D/3D Motion Graphics production workflows. Multimedia and/or technical development project experience a definite plusStrong people-leadership skills.
