The team spans skills across research, strategy, analytics and executive reporting.The Marketplace Strategy & Intelligence Senior Analyst will enable the critical analytics capabilities of the team, including running our vendor & database to ensure data accuracy, conducting various ad-hoc and recurring analysis to support the team and contributing to global strategy & market intelligence work.Job Responsibilities:Collect vendor data and internal eBay data and build into interactive visualizations in Tableau. Monitor, analyze, and report business metrics. Take ownership of scoping data needs and finding insights in the dataBuild and report inventory and GMV trends & insights for executive reporting. Provide commentary on changes and driversBuild and maintain market growth & share models & charts on ongoing basis for all focus categories. This includes deep dive on core competitive set triangulating data from various vendors, industry news, etc.Collaborate with customers, vendors and internal eBay teams to enable accurate and timely data-feeds to drive strategic business decisions through accurate monthly/quarterly reporting, supporting strategy decks formation, etc.Dig into eBay data to create comparable metrics for competitive analysis. Can work cross functionally with Analytics and category teams and to provide side by side comparison with competitorsProvide expertise in tools such as Tableau, SQL, MS Excel, PowerPoint, etc. to conduct analysis, deliver accurate findings and create dashboard and insightful PowerPoint decks. Python is a plusSupport overall team goals and step into projects as directed for ad hoc day to day requestsWork closely with Senior Manager/Manager on vertical projects data gathering and researchProvide technical advice to the team on data availability, gathering methods and timeline for different projectsTake ownership of process improvement for the team to level up efficiency, automation and accuracy in data gathering and visualizationRegularly communicate progress, call out risks, and completion of projects with Sr manager/managerTake pride in close attention to detail and magnificent execution; engage win frequent communication and guidance from project partner (e.g., Manager or Senior Manager) to ensure deliverables are aligned with project goalsQualifications:Position is located in Austin, Texas. Must be willing to go into office 2 days per week.Bachelors in CS, Engineering, Math, Stats and Masters in Analytics or equivalent3+ years of experience in data/business analysis3+ years of experience in data retrieval (e.g., SQL, Python is a plus) and visualization (e.g., Tableau, Excel, PowerPivot)Strong analytical and critical thinking skills as well as in-depth technical knowledgeHands-on experience working with large, complex, and diverse datasetsAbility to convert complex business questions into concrete requirements, relevant metrics and impactful insights and provide recommendations.Ability to lead multiple projects and ad-hoc tasks and be organized.
