Job Description
Manage SQL Server databases in our mission-critical production systems.
Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real-time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
Working knowledge of Linux Operation System.
Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
Support scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.
Excellent communication skills
Can work in a fast-paced, ever-changing startup environment
Qualifications
7+ years MS SQL Server Administration experience required
Hands on experience on MS SQL Server 2016/2019 in production
Exposure to Cloud environments like AWS and/or Azure administration
Experience with Linux Operation System
Excellent scripting skills and automation capabilities
Experience with Performance Tuning, Optimization and DB security
Experience with backups, restores and recovery models
Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
Has to be a flexible team player with “get-it-done” attitude
Ability to organize and plan work independently in a rapidly changing environment
Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities
Experience in working with Windows server will be an added advantage
Any relevant certifications will be an added advantage.
Keep abreast of technologies that help solve availability, scalability of distributed infrastructure in a low latency, high traffic setup.
