Position Overview:
The Sr Manager of Tax will be responsible for all areas of Company’s tax compliance as well as own management of our treasury and entity strategy function. The right individual will be the first person hired into these functions and must be the right mix of startup scrappy and strategic thinking. The scope of this role is broad and is a fantastic opportunity to develop/set Company policy in a host of areas from the ground up. Leverage your prior experiences and build things the right way in a growth phased SaaS startup.
This position is a remote role and will report into our VP, Global Controller.
Responsibilities:
Tax
Ensure compliance of all local, state and federal filings for all entities, domestic and international
Develop a compliance tracker and work with third party resources to execute
Develop and drive Company’s global entity tax strategy
Own all international statutory audits
Ensure filings of all sales and VAT tax returns as well as registrations for all new jurisdictions
Establish a process to refresh sales and VAT tax exposure as the organization grows
Own reconciliations of all tax related asset and liability accounts
Own and execute Company’s transfer pricing policies and related transactions
Maintain a reconciliation of all intercompany transactions
Develop a global payroll tax strategy as it relates to all employee and contractor payments
Establish the organization’s policy as it relates to treatment of contractors/employees and drive implementation
Own the tax provision and defend it with our external auditors
Research newly enacted and proposed legislations and impact on Company’s financial position
Equity
Ownership of tax treatment on all equity transactions (ISO, NSO)
Filing of all equity transaction tax documents
Work with payroll for processing of related equity transactions
Treasury
Oversight of company holdings and planning of entity funding needs
Ensure appropriate control matrices are in place and functioning
Own management of Company’s banking structure and relationships
Work with Purchasing to ensure controls exist on all cash mechanics
Entity Management
Develop and drive Company’s entity structure. In doing so, work closely with FP&A and People Team to understand global inputs and needs
Requirements:
7 to 10+ years of related tax experience
Mix of US and international tax experience is required
Mix of Big Four and/or large company experience is required. Nice to have is additional time spent at a growth phased global startup
BS in Accounting or Taxation is required
CPA is required
High proficiency in tax research, and making well backed definitive recommendations
Knowledge of IFRS and GAAP accounting principles and procedures
Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail and ability to multitask
Superior written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills
