Manufacturing Associate, Biopharma

We are looking for an outstanding Manufacturing Associate, to join our team in South San Francisco, CA. The Manufacturing Associate will produce a variety of DNA-based products with a focus on molecular biology techniques. The candidate will be highly motivated, organized, willing to take initiative, and desire work in a highly collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn new techniques, have excellent molecular biology knowledge and skills, take detailed experimental notes, and communicate effectively with peers and management. What You’ll Be Doing: Manufacture high quality DNA products in lab according to established SOPs Operate robotic laboratory equipment and traditional lab equipment (automated liquid handlers, pipettes, bioanalyzers, centrifuges) Prepare traditional molecular/cellular biology processes and techniques including, but not limited to PCR, DNA purification, DNA quantification, cell culturing Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of all work produced in batch records, databases, and notebooks including issues and deviations Update and write work instructions and similar documentation Work both independently and collaboratively in a safe manner Focus on details to perform consistency and efficiently Package products for delivery Complete assigned tasks daily to maintain production flow What You'll Bring to the Team: 0-2 years of relevant lab experience and/or Bachelor or Associates degree or equivalent experience in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or similar disciplines preferred Familiarity with or prior experience in a manufacturing environment or lab automation preferred Familiarity with genetics and molecular biology preferred Ability to follow work instructions and SOPs to complete manufacturing goals Ability to communicate on priorities and progress Required for All Levels: Some experience with basic molecular biology techniques Some lab experience preferred Excellent written and verbal skills Be able to follow protocols and detail oriented Good computer skills and adaptive to learning new software applications Experience with Excel, Word, Jira/Confluence (Atlassian), web-based applications, and other similar programs Typical Working Conditions Are: Collaborative team-based laboratory environment Working in controlled laboratory environment Must be able to stand for long periods of time while performing duties Must be able to work safely with chemicals and hazardous materials Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs Shift Hours: Monday – Friday (8-hour day shift) About Twist Bioscience Twist Bioscience synthesizes genes from scratch, known as “writing” DNA. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for bonus, equity, and a generous benefits package. Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate skill, experience, expertise, and location and may vary from the amount listed above. Compensation may be different in other locations. San Francisco Bay Area Pay Range $16.63 — $21 USD
