THE TEAM The Strategy and Growth team is responsible for identifying customer and product opportunities and developing the strategy to deliver outsized value to patients, pharmaceutical manufacturers and health plans across the near and long term time horizons. The team is ultimately responsible for growing the number of patients and the number of pharmaceutical products that are available to patients on the platform.  THE ROLE The Director, Life Sciences Partnerships will play a key role in keeping current customers happy, driving renewals, and working closely with payor and operations teams to drive revenue and growth for the business. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES  As a part of Sempre’s commercial team, developing a real empathy for our customers is core to the mission. In this role, reporting to the CCO you will work closely with customers and internal teams to identify opportunities to increase the success of our customers. In this role, you will: Build a deep understanding of customer pain points and requirements for each brand Own customer relationships and work strategically to expand breadth and depth of relationships within existing clients Perform comprehensive assessments of new opportunities within existing customers and build business cases to support recommendations Work across Sempre and with customer to improve pricing / packaging to maximize Sempre revenue in the short and long term. Iterate through options and proposals in conjunction with the business development team and in collaboration with colleagues from payor, legal, finance, product, data science, and operations teams Monitor industry trends; competitor, partner, and customer landscapes, and build frameworks to distill and translate market insights into business actions Have the ability to zoom in and out on strategy and operational components depending on audience and context Collaborate closely with the Strategy and Analytics team to develop analyses and metrics to understand program performance and impact on patients, providers, customers and other stakeholders.  Continuously look for opportunities to develop processes, templates and tools to bring more efficiency to account management Be a spokesperson for Sempre; exude and articulate Sempre’s values to partners, customers, media, and the general public PERFORMANCE & SUCCESS MEASURES Create an effective narrative supported by data that results in client growth and expansion across new medications and new multi-year deals Drive the renewal and expansion of existing base business while identifying opportunities and solutions for executing new business strategies Build a high performing team skilled in managing large and complex clients Work closely with CCO and CEO to develop strategic vision for pharma customers, track metrics and KPIs Collaborate with internal teams to develop and refine the sales strategy and product positioning CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS  Remote-first position, flexibility to travel up to 50% may be required at times 10+ years of experience working with life sciences companies, ideally in a customer facing analytical role, or in a management consulting role Strong understanding of the life sciences value chain, organizational dynamics, and buying behavior and proven track record of developing, negotiating, and closing deals Excellent communication skills, demonstrated through clarity of thought in writing, presentations, and verbal interactions Persistence and enthusiasm through potentially long deal cycles with multiple stakeholders  A passion for fixing healthcare affordability and impacting patients’ lives Scrappy, take initiative, and driven with high levels of empathy and EQ Relentless intellectual curiosity, particularly as it relates to health technology, drug pricing, public policy, network effects, and marketplaces Experience working in a startup environment, or having directly worked with early-stage companies preferred Sempre Health pays all employees, regardless of location, SF Bay Area salaries. We benchmark pay against private companies with comparable funding, valuation, and/or revenue.  As a remote-first company we want you to be able to work from any state you'd like and receive the same pay you would if you worked out of our SF office. Ultimately, we will make you a competitive offer within the range below commensurate with your qualifications and experience.
