About Us:
At RudderStack, we are redefining enterprise-scale data collection and routing. We are building a customer data platform (CDP) on the customer's own data warehouse. Our open-source, developer-first approach is the first of its kind. We understand the outsized impact customer data has on businesses, and we understand the challenges and pain points. We are looking to solve the customer data management problem in enterprises, once and for all, in a secure, compliant and cost-effective way.
RudderStack collects data from 30+ sources, can transform events on the fly, and routes to 150 different marketing, sales, product, analytics applications all with one snippet of code.
We’re backed by Insight Partners, Kleiner Perkins and S28 and have raised a total of $82 million in funding. Our customers include Stripe, Crate + Barrel, Acorns, Hinge, and Priceline. We process critical customer data for some top companies around the world, and are looking for ambitious individuals to join our team and help shape the future of our product.
Your Opportunity
Great products are far more than solid engineering, product management, and marketing. Great products are born out of a deep understanding of both the customer’s problem and the myriad of options they have to solve it.
At RudderStack, we want to build a legendary company on a truly great product, and we position strategic thinkers with technical chops and, above all, empathy for data engineers , as the driving force in accomplishing that goal.
We want you to be one of those driving forces.
Role Description
As a Product Solutions Architect, you hold a critical cross-functional role that spans the spectrum from engineering to our go-to-market teams. While this role is similar to the work done by a ‘traditional’ solutions architect or product manager, it operates at a more strategic level that services the entire business, as opposed to being goaled on functional specifics.
Ultimately, your job will be to:
Deeply understand our customer’s problems in the context of the broader market and help run our own internal data stack to experience those challenges first-hand
Interface with the product team to help shape what we are building to solve those problems
Think strategically about how to enable our go-to-market teams who are communicating the product value to the market, prospects, and our existing customers
This role will report to the Head of Product Marketing and work shoulder-to-shoulder with product managers, engineers, solutions architects, and technical account managers.
This is a highly technical role
You will excel in this role if your strategic thinking is directly influenced by active work on real data infrastructure.
Your job will require running (and dogfooding) RudderStack’s tools, using them to come up with creative solutions to pain points, and actively using other tools in the market to develop both competitive intelligence as well as ideas for how we can better make and market our product.
If you love using data tooling, building data stacks, and thinking critically about how the data infrastructure market is changing, you’re in for a real treat in this role.
What You’ll Do
Become a diligent student of our product and customer, developing a deep understanding of the problems we solve, from context to specific features (with the expectation that you are already deeply familiar with data infrastructure)
Dig deep into our product roadmap and features and drive alignment to customer problems
Support in the creation of product-focused educational content and documentation
Drive product launches and releases, from ideation to positioning and messaging
Your Qualifications
5+ years in a data infrastructure or technical product role
Passion for technical products and the data engineering persona
Deep existing understanding of the type and purpose of the tooling RudderStack builds (not necessarily our specific tool) and direct experience operating tools in the ecosystem of adjacent technologies
Track record of cross-functional collaboration, including product, engineering, and go-to-market
Excellent writing and communication capability
Ability to bring legitimate creative thought to the role, as opposed to running playbooks from a different context
A bias for action and initiative—you will be expected to jump in and provide value
Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range from $110,000 - $190,000. When determining pay as part of a final compensation package, we consider several factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and training.
