Omada Health is on a mission to inspire and engage people in lifelong health, one step at a time.
About the role
Within the Foundation Engineering organization, our mission is to provide Omada engineers with technologies, tools, and systems that simplify and accelerate their productivity and overall development experience.
We are looking for an Engineering Manager who will drive a motivated team of engineers, focused on building the core technical infrastructure for our operations (infrastructure, AI/ML, shared services). This group supports a wide range of technologies, from compute workloads to data storage, through networking and security concerns. We want to provide teams with the right tooling for the job, while trying to keep our infrastructure as simple and cost efficient as it can be.
This role is reporting to the VP of Engineering.
What You Do
You support, coach, mentor, and grow a distributed (US only) team of engineers working primarily on our systems and infrastructure.
You work closely with other managers, directors, and engineers across the organization to ensure that our solutions meet their expectations, and constantly evolve them to stay relevant. Your strong relationship with them allows you to prioritize aggressively.
You empower your group to make critical contributions to our architecture and infrastructure, steering the team to provide performant, secure, and compliant solutions to the Engineering organization and our stakeholders.
You help create an environment where different backgrounds, cultures, industry and life experiences are celebrated and valued.
You partner up with our Security, and Compliance, and Finance stakeholders.
You evolve how the group interacts with their internal and external customers, how it communicates, and prioritizes against Omada’s business goals.
Qualifications
You have been managing Platform Engineering groups for at least 4 years, and are still able to contribute (code reviews, pairing, technical conversations).
You have a deep understanding of how processes, containers, and container schedulers work (we leverage Docker, EKS, and AWS in general).
You are knowledgeable on distributed systems, adequate-size services, and service-oriented architecture.
You know how to create strong partnerships with the engineering team, and leverage their feedback in order to continuously prioritize building solutions that solve their problems.
You know how to build a roadmap, plan for capacity, evaluate trade-offs, and know how to negotiate with your stakeholders.
You have been evolving within highly regulated industries and embed Security practices in everything you design.
You know how to attract, retain, and grow talents within the organization.
You have excellent communication and collaboration skills, verbal and written.
