What We’re Looking For: We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Marketing Multimedia Manager to join our growing creative team. This person in this position is responsible for leading a team of multimedia producers and contractors and ensuring the successful execution of multimedia projects to achieve business goals and objectives. The scope of media assets we produce is a diverse range, including interviews/testimonials, marketing product videos, various types of photoshoots, as well as animations, motion graphics, and paid video advertising. The person in this position sits on the multimedia team, which is part of our internal creative agency. The Creative Marketing Group (CMG) is a full-service, in-house agency supporting all marketing efforts across the edX portfolio of programs and products. We act as strategic partners with our marketing stakeholders, and seek out collaborative solutions to elevate our creative and drive our business.  A portfolio of work that demonstrates excellence in creative direction, storytelling, and marketing strategy is required, and this in a variety of formats (photo, video, animation). Please include a link to your portfolio with your application and cover letter.  Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To: Strategy, Thought Leadership, and Creative Direction: Manage the production of multimedia content, including videos, animations, and photography – as well as the development of concepts, storyboards, and treatments – to ensure high quality, brand guideline adherence, and resonance with the target audience. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and creative best practices, leveraging this knowledge to shape and evolve the creative strategy of the team. Stay abreast of industry-leading best practices for video, animation, and photography production, ensuring high-quality standards and creative excellence in all multimedia content. Act as an edX brand ambassador, both ensuring consistency and adherence to brand guidelines in all multimedia content, and seeking opportunities for creative differentiation and brand evolution. Explore innovative and cutting-edge ideas, and lead the team to drive the conceptualization of new directions and creative concepts for multimedia content. Team and People Management: Lead a team of multimedia professionals, providing guidance, feedback, and support to foster their professional growth and maximize their creative potential. Foster a culture of initiative, proactivity, collaboration, and innovation by providing guidance, encouragement, and support to the team in exploring new ideas, techniques, and technologies to enhance creative outputs. Conduct regular reviews and feedback sessions to inspire and challenge the team, and drive continuous improvement in creative output by pushing the boundaries of multimedia innovation. Participate in the talent acquisition process by sourcing and attracting exceptional candidates, and by selecting top talent to join the team. Coordinate and facilitate the onboarding process by ensuring new hires receive necessary training, resources, and support to quickly integrate into their roles and contribute to the team's success. Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors and contractors, such as production studios, motion designers, and audio engineers, to ensure access to specialized expertise and resources when needed. Direct the team toward predetermined goals and priorities to provide guidance for their work. Nurture and mentor emerging leaders on the multimedia team.  Creative Marketing Group Departmental Leadership: Identify and escalate team-wide challenges, and lead the team through organizational change, business strategy pivots, and other hurdles.  Work with Creative Operations to manage multimedia projects from conception to completion – including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation – and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Implement new tools and solutions that optimize output efficiencies and streamline workflow processes. Collaboration and Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with both the team and stakeholders, fostering an environment of collaboration and mutual trust. Engage in close collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of their objectives, enabling effective guidance for the team's work. Effectively communicate concepts, ideas, training, and processes in a clear, professional manner to internal and external team stakeholders. Management Responsibilities: Manage a team of individual contributors and contractors. Things That Should Be In Your Background: Relevant tertiary qualification (diploma/degree) 7-10 years of multimedia experience in the multimedia industry, with at least:  1-3 years of people management experience 5+ years producing multimedia marketing content Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Photoshop Expert-level skills in sound engineering, using industry-standard tools and software Experience with lighting, Digital SLR acquisition formats, and grip equipment Expert-level skills in color balancing and color correction, using appropriate tools for achieving desired visual aesthetics Proficiency in using a video collaboration tool such as Frame.io for efficient collaboration and feedback on video projects Proficiency in using the Google Office suite for effective communication, documentation, and collaboration Proficiency in working with an industry-standard project management system to ensure efficient planning, organization, and execution of multimedia projects Other Attributes That Will Help You In This Role: Strong knowledge and understanding of content and product marketing, multi-channel strategy, video production, and motion design. Proven videography and photography knowledge and/or animation, and editing skills. Advanced knowledge and proven experience with all phases of the multimedia (pre- and post-production) process. Ability to confidently present to and influence internal stakeholders and teams. Experience in multimedia quality management. Solid verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas and concepts. Skilled in providing constructive feedback on multimedia work to individual producers, fostering growth, and enhancing the quality and effectiveness of their output. Outstanding skills in multimedia quality assurance to guarantee that multimedia assets consistently meet rigorous standards of quality, consistency, and effectiveness. Conceptual and problem-solving abilities. Future-focused and purpose-driven mindset. Ability to maintain a calm and flexible demeanor, thriving in high-pressure environments and effectively managing short deadlines without compromising quality or attention to detail. Strong ability to work collaboratively, actively seeking and incorporating feedback and art direction from stakeholders and team members while maintaining a flexible and open-minded approach. Experience in working with strict budgets, adept at managing resources effectively, and maximizing value within financial constraints. Excellent prioritization, multi-tasking, and organizational skills, efficiently managing multiple projects and responsibilities to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
