We are seeking a Senior Director, Total Rewards to lead the development, implementation, and management of Metagenomi’s compensation and benefits strategies and action plans to attract, motivate, develop, and retain a high-performing and engaged workforce in an industry-competitive and compliant manner. Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources, this newly created position will lead the emerging Compensation and Benefits function and will be based in Emeryville, California.
How you’ll contribute:
Perform complex research and analysis on compensation and benefits policies and practices in the areas of job leveling, base salary, variable pay, pay structures, internal equity, external market trends, and regulatory compliance
Research best practices and trends and perform deep analysis on the effectiveness and competitiveness of existing compensation solutions and present to management findings and alternative solutions that are cost-effective and consistent with market data
Develop and administer various compensation programs that attract, recognize, and retain talent, including salary planning and promotion process
Review and design best practices of employee benefits packages, manage records, evaluate and make recommendations for market competitiveness and serve as the primary focal point to our Benefits broker.
Provide thought leadership on the competitive marketplace, industry trends, and challenges to effectively design or recommend new compensation plans, benefits programs and policies. Assess and develop the business cases and ROI for new and existing compensation programs and benefits programs
Proactively build consultative and collaborative relationships with cross-functional leaders on compensation and benefits programs and initiatives.
Develop and oversee budget, policies, and procedures related to Compensation to support functional infrastructure and company objectives.
What you bring:
Minimum of ten (10) years of increasingly responsible total rewards (compensation, benefits, and equity) and biotech industry experience, and at least three years of management and executive compensation experience, rapid growth company experience strongly preferred
Undergraduate degree in business, finance, or a similarly relevant field.
Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification is preferred.
Outstanding knowledge of compensation and benefits practices and trends, including market analysis and benchmarking
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing total rewards strategies and programs that align to business goals and objectives
Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize competing demands
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to use data to drive decisions
Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills and the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Outstanding attention to detail, a commitment to accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple competing deadlines.
California Pay Transparency Disclosure:
This position is classified as an exempt salaried position under the Federal Labor Standards Act. The anticipated base salary range for this position will be $250,000 to $275,000 . You will also be eligible to receive equity, bonuses, and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits depending on the position offered. Please note that individual total compensation for this position will be determined at the Company’s sole discretion and may vary based on location, skill level, years and depth of relevant experience, and education.
