Japan Sales Finance Manager (Japan based):

Our International business is our high growth engine of Pure, covering the Theaters of APJ, EMEA and LATAM. The Theaters each have their own unique capabilities, cultural diversity but all have a thirst for analytical information and that's where you come in.
What You Will Be Doing
We are seeking an exceptional Finance Manager to support the International Sales team. This role will focus heavily on business partnering with our Japan Sales team primarily, in a very varied role, covering all aspects from Commercial deal support with our deal desk, working with our Shared Services team on building out intelligence, analytics and reporting to reviewing leading indicators of performance such as pipeline or Expense to Bookings with Sales leadership. This is an instrumental role for Finance to provide value added analysis to the business.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
GTM Finance (65% of time) incl elements of Controllership Liaison
Leverage weekly/monthly/quarterly reports and analytics to provide insightful metrics that will support go-to-market strategy formation and measure the success of execution. Analyze business trends, customer buying patterns, pipeline, deals, and markets.
Work with the shared service team for them to build critical business and financial models for headcount, expenses, commission, pipeline and bookings - allowing the information to be presented clearly and for non-financial audience to drive decision making.
Understand the story behind the numbers and translate this into forward-looking narratives and forecasts which align with underlying business and market insights
Drive financial planning, forecasting, and reporting activities, including Expense-to-Bookings (E:B) reporting processes to best utilize the resources for the maximum return on investment
Serve as the point of contact for Controllership (Circa 15%-20%), Treasury, Tax and external service providers in supporting compliance activity including local language queries.
Drive expense management activities for sales teams and identify risks and opportunities to budget plan
Provide support to the International team on special projects and initiatives.
Drive continual process improvement leveraging best practices, standardization, and automation to scale the business.
Business Strategy Support for Japan (35% of time)
This role is both strategic and tactical: it supports daily as well as strategic decision making. This role will require timely collaboration between multiple, passionate stakeholders for urgent, time-sensitive decisions.
Trusted advisor to Japan sales and sales leadership on commercials, sharing insights and trends on key business metric, Strategy, transformation and change management.
Drive a step change in portfolio expansion and customer acquisition leveraging key KPI material (eg Rev Op’s book of business) to influence growth decisions.
Take end responsibility in for the Deal Strategy function in the Japan - rolling into the APJ Theatre
Provide day to day decisions that guide the business towards company’s long term goals
Develop a strong understanding of Pure’s business model, competitive landscape and product offers
Manage deal engagements, creatively structure and model deals and coordinate internal approvals for them. Shaping and analyzing large and complex deals to maximize key business metrics.
Review incoming deals for accuracy, fitness and alignment with policies and strategic initiatives
Understand common deal patterns and drive pricing and monetization strategies to win deals
What You Will Bring To The Team
8+ years of experience in FP&A or Commercial Finance roles.
Advanced Proficiency in financial analysis and modeling. Provide timely reports and continue to drive data analytics automation for the team.
Great systems experience in Tableau, Salesforce, Anaplan, NetSuite, Callidus, or similar systems and tools.
Highly motivated, self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast pace and ambiguous environment, simultaneously manage multiple priorities.
Attention to detail when necessary and ability to synthesize large volumes of data and summarize into presentation/management views.
Experience in technology industries or sales finance is a plus.
Excellent written/verbal communication skills, collaborative, and a strong team player.
Finance, Accounting, Economics BS degree or equivalent.
CIMA / CPA / ACCA Studier / Finalist ideal
