WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING... Full life-cycle system development focusing on kernel issues Designing, coding and debugging kernel code principally in C and C++. This may be traditional or user space drivers, or modification to the Linux kernel. Debug difficult kernel issues, found both in our own use of Linux kernel but also preexisting upstream issues Conducting software code and design reviews Performance analysis and tuning Support, maintain, and document software functionality Possibly serving as a technical lead on a project Integrate software with existing systems WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE... Natural curiosity and an ability to design, implement and test product components in a highly collaborative and team oriented environment 5 or more years of software development. Proficiency in C/C++ and scripting languages such as Python Significant experience in Linux/BSD/Solaris/AIX kernel/driver development One or more of the following specialized skills that are a plus: Open source/upstream experience Good understanding of x86 system architecture Expertise in I/O technologies and standards such as Fibre Channel, SCSI, RDMA, NVMe, Ethernet, or protocols (IP, NFS, SMB, …) Experience with userspace device drivers System level performance analysis and optimization The salary range for this position is: $182,000-$273,000 per year. Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations. This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
