Senior Software Engineer - Ingestion PagerDuty is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our diverse and customer-focused team! As Senior Software Engineer you will be responsible for a number of microservices, making sure that we meet our high service level objectives, while continuing to innovate and adapt our system rapidly for our customers and other internal engineering teams. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the team that is responsible for enhancing and operating the mission-critical part of PagerDuty’s event ingestion pipeline that processes billions of events each year with very high uptime requirements.  The ideal candidate will have a track record of stepping up and leading successful engineering projects, and have experience designing & implementing distributed and highly available systems.  Key Responsibilities From day one, you’ll be designing, coding, testing and shipping APIs, backend applications and microservices that ensure we deliver secure, highly reliable and scalable solutions to our customers. We test in production, so you’ll be involved in planning and running experiments where we deliberately stress our systems to find weaknesses and fix them proactively.  With 10,000+ global customers and growing, you’ll be solving really interesting technical challenges while helping to scale our product to keep up with demand.  You will work with a wide range of systems, processes, and technologies to build solutions that solve customer problems. You will be participating in your team’s on-call rotation, triaging and addressing production issues as they arise. Basic Qualifications 7+ years of experience with modern programming languages such as Java, Elixir, Scala, etc. Experience with data platforms and pipelines - with Kafka or something similar   Previous team lead or mentorship experience Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Flink Have significant development experience working on customer-facing and web-based systems involving real-time data Not sure if you qualify?
