Iterative Health is pioneering the use of artificial intelligence-based precision medicine in gastroenterology, with the aim of helping to optimize clinical trials investigating the treatment of IBD. We use advanced machine learning and computer vision to interpret endoscopic videos along with other types of data, helping clinicians better assess patients with potential GI problems. Ultimately, the company aims to establish more meaningful endpoints to serve as better predictors of both therapeutic response and disease outcomes.
What you’ll be doing:
Lead biomedical data science and biostatistics efforts to analyze clinical and video datasets in strong collaboration with machine learning engineers and scientists
Cross-functional collaboration with Clinical, scientific, and machine learning teams to analyze large-scale datasets using bioinformatics and data science
Develop high-quality computational methods and build scalable tools to enable data-driven approaches for retrospective and prospective trial studies
Identify scientifically relevant findings within datasets and machine learning results spanning multiple modalities.
Communicate findings both internally and externally and recommend follow-up actions.
Required Skills:
Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, bioinformatics, biostatistics, engineering, or other quantitative fields with practical experience in an industrial or research setting.
Aptitude for collaborating cross-team and cross-functionally to specify and improve designs, estimate timelines, and deliver results.
Working experience with R and Python program languages to analyze large high-dimensional and multi-modal datasets.
Track record of conducting systematic and pragmatic analyses to formulate and test multiple important hypotheses.
Strong written/verbal technical communication and interpersonal skills

Background in Gastroenterology
Working knowledge of Cloud Computing (AWS), PostgreSQL, Docker
Maintain deep knowledge of the relevant state-of-the-art methods
Extensive experience with various services of Cloud Computing (AWS)
Experience developing or validating deep learning models, preferably in Python using PyTorch.
Experience with computer vision libraries such as Pillow, scikit-image, and OpenCV.
Applicant note: Iterative Health is running a 3 month return to office pilot for any employee within a 45 minute commute of our Cambridge, MA; Dallas, TX; or New York City offices. If you are hired for a role, and live within a 45 minute commute of one of those office locations, you will be asked to report to the office twice per week.
