The Role:
Forge is seeking an experienced Product Manage r / Leader to drive product development for our private market trading p latform. Our platform provides the key capabilities to support trading-related customer journey s with RFQ; interest and order entry, interest management, matching , investment fund management-related functions , and risk management.
Responsibilities:
Own the vision, strategy, and product roadmap for our next-gen trading platform that:
Deliver measurable customer outcomes through a trusted experience that is tailored to the needs of market participants (professional and individual investors, employee shareholders, issuers, and brokers)
Deliver business impact supporting the Company’s strategies and objectives, as well as its legal, regulatory, and compliance needs
Acknowledge and influence the evolving structure and dynamics of the private secondaries market
Consider and informs our next-gen technology architecture, in close partnership with Technology leadership, platform teams, and other product teams
Bring deep customer empathy, domain knowledge, a systems-thinking lens, and demonstrated experience in capital markets and trading to inform product strategy and development
Engage deeply with customers, SMEs, and key internal stakeholders, develop an intricate understanding of their needs, and translate these into product requirements
Work closely with stakeholders across the organization, including technology brokers/sales teams, legal & compliance, data, marketing, and operations, ensuring effective collaboration and alignment of objectives
Demonstrate a ‘thinking in bets’ mentality to manage uncertainty within a rapidly evolving asset class/market. Balance risks and rewards, and make informed decisions
Work closely with the UX research & design team to create prototypes for validation and testing
Partner with engineering, program management, design, and other product teams to prioritize features, define product requirements, and drive execution
When necessary create detailed user stories, and ensure that prioritization is aligned with the strategic objectives
Attend agile ceremonies and hold additional sessions as needed to ensure proper and timely documentation of User Stories; and lead backlog grooming sessions to ensure the delivery team understands the solution
Evangelize product strategy to internal and external audiences
Coach and manage a team of 2-3 product managers setting high standards of performance, encouraging growth, and fostering a culture of innovation
Establish success metrics and work with UX research and product analytics to continuously measure the performance and impact of the product, making necessary improvements
Qualifications:
A minimum of 10 years of experience in product management, with at least 5 years in leadership role
Proven track record of successfully building new products from scratch in an environment with high ambiguity/uncertainty, preferably at a fintech or other startup
A minimum of 4 years experience in capital markets, especially focused on trading, with an intimate knowledge of relevant FINRA and SEC compliance considerations
Strong customer empathy and experience conducting customer research with professional investors, and translating insights into product decisions
Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to frame complex problems, derive insights from data and devise effective strategies
Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization
A customer-centric mindset and a track record of translating customer insights into successful products
Ability to balance both strategic thinking with detailed, hands-on execution
Experience working with JIRA and Confluence
BA/BS degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field. MBA or equivalent is a plus
Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time in an office or home office setting while working
For residents of San Francisco/Bay Area, CA or New York, NY the annual salary range for this role is $220,000 - $240,000 + bonus + equity. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience and expertise, annual bonus, and other factors.
