You will:
Define the organization required to execute our Air export business
Recruit a high-performing team to execute Air export space planning
Formalize operating procedures and standards for the team among all the Asian countries, ensuring they are harmonized on a regional/global level and accommodate the local practice as well.
Formalize Air Planning team objectives and Key Performance Indicators and ensure there are metrics in place to measure success
Manage the performance of the Air Planning team
Overseeing day-to-day team performance and managing escalations
Ensuring regular coaching and performance reviews to drive team progress
Collaborate with Air pricing and procurement teams on a regional level to drive growth
Develop Air planning tools together with Engineering teams.
Participate in the launch planning of all new offices to support Flexport growth in Asia aligning headcount, operating procedures and implementation timelines with the commercial side of Flexport organization
Participate in the sourcing of air warehousing infrastructures in Asia and ensure clear operating processes are established between warehousing and Air planning team on how to execute
Define and Implement KPIs to measure the quality of the planning team. Such KPI should include but not be limited to space utilization, consol effect, and MABD failure rate, etc.
Manage the service partners for the cargo information to be updated timely and completely.
Constantly monitor and drive fulfillment of our contract tonnage and charter capacity
Manage co-loaders / GSAs to manage excess / shortage vs. our capacity
Ensure we are highly reliable partners for airlines (no cancellations, late deliveries, etc…)
Ensure all air export planning processes in Asia countries are formalized and standardized.
Constantly drive air export process improvements and work with the Air engineering team to improve Flexport tech.
Drive day-to-day planning team management through data.
Cross-country cargo maneuver to save cost and the same time meet clients’ transit time requirements.
Ensure all air export planning knows how to secure competitive ad hoc quotes from airlines locally.
Knows how to and execute on daily basis to get a regional ad hoc good deal from airlines through leveraging Flexport's total scale.
You should have:
Previous leadership experience in Freight Forwarding managing an operational team (customer experience, space planning or operations) or as a logistics consultant
Excellent at process mapping and able to design and fully document processes from scratch
Able and willing to work long/intense hours required in startup environment
Strategic vision and ground floor execution: able to do any task required for the business
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
An obsession with client happiness. You succeed when they succeed
Courage to challenge the status quo when logic and reason require it. See something broken? Fix it.
Strong analytical background and mastery of analytical tools (Excel, etc…)
Very structured with high level of energy
A "compliance first" attitude to keep our regulators happy and enthusiastic about Flexport since we operate in a heavily regulated industry
