The opportunity:
Experienced Senior Manager of Supply Chain Operations to lead and optimize cross-border operations, warehouse operations, and import-export activities. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, managing vendors and carriers, optimizing operational efficiency, and leading a team of supply chain professionals. Your expertise in cross-border logistics and deep knowledge of import-export processes between the United States and Mexico will be essential to success in this role.
You will:
Develop and execute supply chain strategies and operational plans to ensure efficient and cost-effective movement of goods across borders and warehousing operations, focusing on import-export activities between the United States and Mexico.
Ensure compliance with customs regulations, trade laws, and other regulatory requirements by working closely with customs brokers, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders.
Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, evaluate performance, and implement service level agreements with suppliers, carriers, and logistics service providers.
Optimize transportation routes, identify opportunities for consolidation or multimodal transportation, reduce transit times, and minimize costs associated with cross-border processes.
Assess and mitigate risks associated with cross-border fulfillment and warehousing operations, including transportation delays, customs issues, regulatory changes, and security concerns.
Lead and mentor a team of supply chain professionals, providing guidance, support, and performance management to ensure effective execution of day-to-day operations.
Collaborate with internal teams, such as sales, operations, and customer service, to ensure seamless coordination and customer satisfaction.
Stay updated on industry trends, technology advancements, and regulatory changes affecting cross-border supply chain operations, and incorporate best practices into operational strategies.
You should have:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
Minimum ten years of experience in supply chain operations, logistics, warehousing, or freight forwarding, with a strong focus on cross-border operations between the United States and Mexico.
In-depth knowledge of import-export processes, customs regulations, and trade laws pertaining to the US-MX corridor.
Proven experience in developing and executing supply chain strategies, optimizing operational efficiency, and managing vendor relationships in a cross-border context.
Strong understanding of transportation modes, customs documentation, tariff classifications, and compliance requirements.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement effective solutions.
Solid leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in supply chain management software, transportation management systems, and other relevant tools.
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, ambiguous, and dynamic environment, with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
