The opportunity:  The Global Partners team is building a Certified Partner Network for the 100+ countries where Flexport does not operate directly.  Partners provide global reach and the local presence and expertise to complete Flexport’s global offering. Flexport provides technology and processes for Partners to seamlessly integrate into the operation, such that operating through a Partner is indistinguishable from operating directly with Flexport. The Client experience should be seamless - no matter who is moving the freight. As the Director of Partnerships for Latin America, you will lead a team of Partnership Managers who each drive freight forwarding and logistics partnerships covering Mexico, Central and South America.  Your team will enable Flexport’s mission of making global trade easy for everyone.  The Partnership Managers on your team will oversee a portfolio of Partners at different stages as they set sourcing strategy, negotiate terms, manage the commercial relationship and help drive operational performance. You’ll lead your team to collaborate with regional stakeholders, including operations, sales and account management, and trade lane procurement leaders to design customer solutions for clients, negotiate competitive rates with Partners, triage escalations, and drive demand through the Partners in your region. Together, you will help with analyzing problems, discovering insights, delivering recommendations, and driving change both internally and externally. You will operate at both a strategic and operational level, ensuring we exceed Client expectations with each shipment.  You will:  Lead a team of 3 Partnership managers that is consistently and effectively: Managing all aspects of the Partner lifecycle: sourcing and negotiating, onboarding to Flexport, managing performance, and offboarding Collaborating with sales and operations team to design logistics solutions for Clients and win new business for Flexport  Negotiating with Partners to secure the best rates, terms, profit sharing, operation processes, and technology adoption to deliver high quality, low cost operations Oversee the day-to-day commercial relationship with the Partners and act as a point of escalation for internal stakeholders  Define the network strategy for your region to unlock the broader company objectives Set and adjust priorities both independently and on behalf of your team Influence and negotiate priorities with other teams, and determine where to simplify or extend solutions for the best outcome Handle complex problems/efforts, decisions and escalations Work and lead both tactically and strategically  Hire, manage performance, coach and promote team members You should have:  BA/BS in Business, Engineering, Mathematics, International Studies or related field MBA preferred 12+ years of professional experience including experience in P&L management and vendor, client or partner management Excel at managing partner or vendor relationships and negotiations to find win-win solutions  Business development experience is a plus Ability to speak Spanish, English and Portuguese is highly preferred A "compliance first" attitude to keep our regulators happy and enthusiastic about Flexport since we operate in a heavily regulated industry.    About Flexport:  At Flexport, we believe global trade can move the human race forward.
